– via

Today I want to share the unfortunate and terrible experience we had with Cabo Pulmo Divers. My family and I are from Guatemala, staying at a hotel in Cabo San Lucas, and we planned a family trip with the sole purpose of diving together in Cabo Pulmo. We had everything planned in advance and had already scheduled our dive for 4 people with Cabo Pulmo Divers. Unfortunately, yesterday, Hurricane Norma began its path towards this area. However, it’s important to note that it hasn’t rained yet, and it’s still sunny.
We had the dive scheduled for 12:00 pm. As we were aware of the hurricane and possible complications (even though I repeat, there are no signs of it yet), we sent a message to confirm our dive at 8 in the morning. We quickly received a reply that literally said, “Correct, we’ll be waiting for you.” Upon receiving this message, we proceeded to confirm the rental car and began our journey of over 2 hours and more than 100 kilometers to Cabo Pulmo, very excited.
Upon our arrival, Cabo Pulmo Divers representatives informed us that we couldn’t dive due to the unfavorable conditions. They claimed to have known since 10 in the morning that the afternoon dive wouldn’t be possible. When we asked why they hadn’t informed us, they simply replied, “Well, we were able to do the morning dives.”
I want to make it clear that we understand that the weather is beyond anyone’s control; that wasn’t the issue. The problem was the lack of consideration and the fact that Cabo Pulmo Divers didn’t notify us of the dive cancellation (resulting in us losing 5 hours of our last day in Cabo San Lucas). To make matters worse, they were extremely uncooperative and even sarcastically blamed us for not checking the weather. They never offered an apology or showed an ounce of empathy. In fact, they were quite rude and unfriendly. I would recommend looking for another tour operator if you want to avoid a bad experience (there are plenty of options nearby with much more courteous staff). – via

– via

This is certainly the shop to go to if you want to dive in Cabo Pulmo. Very professional and well outfitted shop. Can be a little hard to get spaces on short notice, but to be expected. If your gear is DIN keep in mind they only had a few DIN tanks when I was there so you’ll be using a yoke adapter most likely. – via

After scoping out the many other dive shops in Cabo Pulmo, my partner and I decided to go with Cabo Pulmo Divers. Erica was very friendly and helpful when it came to booking our dives. On our first dive, there was a group of 5 of us and Pilu was our guide. She was very kind and you could tell she really loved her job. She did her best to find the marine life that we wanted to see and we were not disappointed. We saw a TON of bull sharks and other fish. Because of our incredible first experience, we decided on a whim to go back to Cabo Pulmo and do a few more tanks. Again, we were not disappointed. On our second trip, Alfredo was our guide and he was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and he was also kind enough to share the pictures he had taken. Overall, an incredible experience with a very knowledgeable dive shop. I’d highly recommend Cabo Pulmo Divers any day and will be back! Thanks again! – via

Thanks Erica , Pilu , Alfredo and Trunco for some great diving in Cabo Pulmo!
Thanks to Alfredo for sharing the photos and videos of the bull shark dive we did, this was much appreciated for the memories.
Try to be clear in voicing your expectations before diving would be my advice for diving in Baja, but you can’t really go wrong diving in Cabo Pulmo national park due to the sheer variety of marine life .
Thanks Cabo Pulmo divers , hope to see you again later in the year !

We had a great day of diving with Cabo Pulmo Divers, they were able to accommodate our small time window and late notice without issue. We were a group of 2 experienced divers and one person doing their first discover scuba dive. Our divemaster Alfredo did a great job getting our new friend up to speed and was able to balance a great dive experience for us experienced divers while keeping things safe for our new friend. Captain David kept things running smooth and everyone was very friendly and made for a great day. Great service by email too and were quick to respond. Thank you CPD team! – via

Worst service in Cabo Pulmo. We dove with a guide named Alfredo Barrientos and was extremely rude from the get-go. He was not helpful at all when setting up the equipment, choosing wetsuit sizes and fin sizes. Once in the water, the guide Alfredo, was nowhere to be seen and did not pay attention to the group. Although Cabo Pulmo has a lot to offer in terms of scuba diving, going out with this company makes it unpleasant. – via
