We had an amazing experience with Blue Wave Divers! Cal and the team did a fantastic job! I had my certification from Mexico, but my girlfriend wanted to try a Discover Dive. So we arranged 2 discover dives for her and I got to dive together with her for her first time. Very professional and the trip was amazing! Would recommend this dive shop! – via

It was an amazing and unforgettable experience to dive with Blue Wave Divers. At all time I felt safe and had lots of fun with my group. We saw many coral, fishes, lobsters and sharks. They only dive in small groups of max 4, and today we were with Alex, our dive master. He was very knowledgeable and professional and always friendly. I highly recommend checking them out! – via

Not entirely convinced of Blue Wave Divers..
Pros:
– Friendly & safe dive instructors.
-My boyfriend did the open water certification with them and it went okay (a bit rushed but the instructor cal was very strict & safe).
– Small groups
Cons:
-Communication is very poor here: I tought I had reserved for the esmaralda bay turned out they instead went for Blue hole, didn’t properly inform me and I had to rush on the morning to find another company…
Also, my boyfriend was asked to do his open water in 2days instead of 3…
-On my dive, the instructor was more focused on taking pictures (for 10$) instead of showing the marine life
– small company but pricy and the boat is small so you can get seasick more easily – via

I do not recommend that anyone dive with this shop.

A group of friends and I (all mid 20’s females) signed up for a night dive. The divemaster and captain both had beverages when we got on the boat that looked like alcoholic mixed drinks. During the boat ride and when we anchored, the two kept making comments to us such as “if you dive naked more sharks will come!” There was lightning in the distance that we expressed concerns about multiple times that was dismissed. We were given one torch each, and when one didn’t work they tried to say it was okay. We requested a backup light and it was only given upon multiple requests from multiple of us. On a night dive, each diver should have a backup torch as well as a beacon, none of which were provided. Before the dive, the DM also kept telling us we were going to 80ft, or 60ft, and that we were going beyond the reef break. We ended up going to 25ft inside the reef break. It was very frustrating as we did not know what we were actually doing despite asking multiple times.

The whole dive felt very unprofessional and frankly unsafe. Would recommend any other dive shop in the area, especially as a young women. We also dove with Frenchies and it was very professional and very safe. – via

Club génial, très sérieux et avec une équipe adorable (excepté le jeune homme à l’accueil qui ne sourit jamais et qui semble sorti du lit quelle que soit l’heure !!!).
Familial, bateau top et seulement 6 à 8 plongeurs.
Alex est un moniteur extraordinaire, plein d’humour et en même temps passionné et hyper pro.
Notre adorable capitaine, toujours le sourire aux lèvres et plein d’attention.
Nous avons également hautement apprécié la réactivité par mail de Zulie pour les réservations.
Plongée super sur Esmeralda avec plein de requins nourrices câlins et des requins pointes noires impressionnants .
Retour d’une autre plongée accompagnés par des dauphins 🙂

Fantastic 2-dive trip (Tackle Point & Esmeralda) with loads of nurse sharks and a few reef sharks too. Alex has to be the best dive master we’ve ever had – fun & enthusiastic but also thorough and we felt very safe at all times. Boat Captain Chingy was also brilliant and so friendly!
All equipment was included and in very good condition.
We had an hour’s surface interval around San Pedro which was a bonus too. Highly recommend. – via

Great diving experience. The gear and boats are well maintained. Unlike some other shops they also make sure to choose diving sites based off of ocean conditions rather than letting an unknowing diver choose a reef that will give you a very rough ride.

Driver was excellent navigating some choppy waves – this really made a huge difference. And dive master was excellent, pointing out fish as well as keeping constant tabs on everyone’s location and air.

Boat has no sun cover so just be extra prepared. And don’t be a dummy like me – the shop provides water out of a cooler so bring your own bottle! – via
