A simple diver resort, which conveniently does single dives in the afternoon as well as double dives in the morning at a reasonable price. We have visited the area several times in the past, in this resort we did not feel particularly well, including after the dives (the reason is hard to pinpoint, may or may not have to do with the resort). Room 1 had some half-dead cockroaches crawling around. Otherwise, the dining area on the terrace is nice and serves good local dishes, including coconut-based curries. The aircon is not particularly strong but can cool the room down to 22-23C. Wifi is not bad most of the time. – via

Blue Ribbon is a great place for all levels of scuba divers.

I completed my Rescue Diving Certification after having been on a diving hiatus – kids and all – and recently came back to it a year ago.

John paced the training well. He was very good at explaining things, demonstrating, answering all my questions and provided useful feedback all throughout my skills training. The teacher and dive staff simulated scenarios (very fun but also serious) for me to practice and apply the skills learned.
I feel so much more confident and have a bunch of new skills.

John and his dive guides are also excellent at identifying and spotting all kinds of macro critters.

I recommend Blue Ribbon for your next dive adventure.

What a great dive resort! Spent 6nights and had 5 days of diving. The food is great, with a lot of variety. Shakes and smoothies were enjoyable. Some non-guests come here for diving or for food, which is a good sign.
We took the room facing the sea, which had a balcony that was beautiful for chilling and watching the sunset. Internet was available in rooms, restaurant and in the dive center. We particularly liked the dive center; Jeff (dive guide and instructor) has a calm style. The staff will look after you as much or as little as you like. They are all smiles, which was lovely. We will definitely be back – we thought Blue Ribbon was excellent value for money and the staff were just delightful. – via

I’ve dived with Blue Ribbon 5 times now in the last 3 months. The owner Jon is very social and often spends time with the guests. There have been some issues with the showers in the past, however in the last few visits everything has functioned well since a new pressure pump was installed.
The main reason to stay here is for the diving and the resort has 2 resident instructors to guide the guests. Jeff and Dang are both fantastic guides, they have great eyes and can spot the unspottable and find the unfindable. They are both very knowledgeable about marine life and can always help identify the strange underwater creatures you’ve just seen.
And after you’ve enjoyed the diving you can always look forward to some excellent food at the restaurant. I’m told it’s one of the better restaurants in the area and I’ve seen people from outside the resort visiting just for dinner. Blue Ribbon is all round good recommendation. – via

Ne pas y aller pour le confort ou la propreté des chambres.
Les toilettes/ douches ne doivent jamais être lavées au vu de la poussière et de la crasse que nous avons trouvé. Et que dire de l’odeur nauséabonde en permanence !
Côté cuisine c’est raisonnable assez bon … mais nous n’avons pas été voir si l’état de la cuisine ressemblait à nos sanitaires! Les tables ne sont pas lavées régulièrement et les dessous de table comporte des restes du repas précédent.
Aucune décoration florale dans les parties communes et le seul lieu de détente est sur un canapé pouff dans lequel je n’ai pas osé me mettre car cela doit faire longtemps qu’il n’a pas été nettoyé.

COTE PLONGÉE : Les installations sont basiques et abîmées ( pour prendre une douche dehors c’est tout 1 art pour ouvrir le robinet)… et le local ” sec” est bourré de matériel électrique non rangé ( à qui est-il… a quoi sert-il) .
NÉANMOINS le personnel bien qu’un peu timide est très serviable. Les dive Master sont sympa aussi …mais nous aurions préféré ne mais faire partie d’une palanquee de 6 plongeurs ! Il nous ont montrent des choses vraiment sympas que nous n’aurions spas vu sans eux.

Je pense que le patron devrait donner des directives fermes et prendre mieux en main son établissement s’il souhaite voir continuer son affaire. – via

I just done my PADI Open water scuba diving in this resort. super happy with the great experience here . everyone is very friendly, food was good. the John teacher is very conscientious and passionate about his coaching and hosting . really recommend this place. definitely will come back when i need to get my Advance diving skill. thanks all – via

Blue Ribbon has everything you want:
1. Safety and top notch Instructors
2. Variety of dive sites close by; there’s something for everyone
3. All resort staff are lovely as well as responsive
4. Menu is varied + good; no need to leave the resort to eat/drink

I’ve now done a range of courses as well as fun diving at Blue Ribbon. I’ve dived across many different dive shops in the country but Blue Ribbon will be the one I will continue to come back to.

Booked with Adrena Line as part of a company team building break, what a fantastic experience and day!
The booking process was smooth with great communication, we took advantage of the bus pick up / drop off service – the driver was great, had a wealth of knowledge about the area and ran everything on time. The staff are all brilliant, safety was at the forefront of everything they did but they still managed to make it fun and funny. we had a few first timers in our group but by the 3rd line they were completely at ease and began to keep their eyes open lol. The whole experience was enjoyed by everyone from getting to ride in the various vehicles to get you to the tops of the course to the many varied zip lines, we finished the day off with drinks and snacks at the charming on site 17 mile house pub.

quite basic accommodation for this price. Room with no hot water during some of the days, which is extremely unsatisfying especially after diving. After complaining they always called someone to repair it.
Food is ok, but I really missed some more options after a while, like a steak or grilled fish. Also, they somehow never had orange juice available for breakfast despite me asking every day (“Maybe tomorrow.”).
Same for tea on the dive boat, despite asking a couple of times for it, they only served coffee between the morning dives.
There are some dogs and cats running around, which is ok for me , but not a big fan, if the dogs are so smelly and sit next to you while eating.
For the dive prices, I guess they are average, but they have a misleading rule: a dive with guide for 1 person only is 1800P. If it is 2 or more persons it is 1600P, what makes sense to me, because of cost for dive guide, boat, etc. I was always diving with a bigger group -never alone, but when paying they explained to me since I TRAVEL alone I have to pay the higher price. Not very logical to me. – via

Let me start with – I wish we could have stayed another day to dive and enjoy everything this beautiful resort has to offer! Stayed 3 nights and we completed 2 dives, spent 1 day snorkeling

The Internet connection is extremely fast – have a bar WiFi, and room WiFi! Perfect for processing dive photography and reminiscing about all the beautiful life Mabini showcases. The bar is already an amazing place to hang out, you can spend hours there sipping on drinks (try the mango shake – nonalcoholic for diving the next day), trying Filipino cuisines, and their potato soup is also perfect post-dive.

This is a PADI 5 Star Resort! That means:
– Dives are organized
– Staff is knowledgeable and speaks both Tagalog & English
– There’s an in-house Divemaster and instructors to help guide you. This is good if it’s your first time, first time diving internationally, getting a refresher, going advanced, etc.
– Equipment is good (AquaLung)

Others:
– Your room is literally steps away from the beach. It’s incredible for snorkeling off the beach or watching the mesmerizing sunset every night
– Plenty of furry friends around
– Staff, instructors, dive crowd all great – guests are from all different locations and it was fun to mingle with everyone

Highly recommend to anyone checking out Mabini for diving and relaxation!

Room is also well-equipped and very clean, I would only recommend that the showers get upgraded as they are slightly damaged by seawater and use. – via
