I have spent 7 days aboard the Blue Horizon. It was an offshore reef tour with almost 20 dives.
I would like to rate the dives, the boat, the meals, the service, the cruise/ dive guides and the crew starting at the dive deck ending up with the chefs with 5.1 of 5 stars. This was just awesome and can’t be better. From my point of view it is almost impossible to create an atmosphere that is professional, unguided and guided by demand and familiar at the same time, but this is what I have found. I have seen several diving bases, for sure there were good ones and this is really one of the best.
The overall pricing is more than fair. I’d love to pay 100$ more for a simple reason. So trip price also gets 5.1 of 5 stars.
If you have any additional costs during the trip, please inform yourself how much you’ll have to pay. I would love to see a full pricing list online starting from rental equipment, Nitrox ending up with the paid drinks. It is fair and necessary to have additional costs, but this must be more transparent before booking! This is a 0 of 5 star rating that I don’t include in my overall sum.
Finally some words about the reef tour. This was surprisingly just okay. We had bad luck with the visibility and we expected more (big) fish at the beginning of the season. I won’t ever include this in my rating. The diving spots all had the chance for some unforgettable moments and for sure there were some impressive sceneries e.g. in the caverns. As you can only pick good spots and hope you are there at the right time, the reef tour also gets 5 of 5 stars as well. – via

I have just returned from a trip with Blue 0 two (BO2) on board there Adventurer livaboard taking in the best of wrecks itinerary.
The trip was put in jeopardy by the collapse of Thomas Cook just 4 days before we were due to travel. The staff at BO2 however managed to book us on alternative flights from LHR via Cairo for a £170 supplement rather than a direct flight from MAN to Hurghada so the trip was still on despite the extra cost and slightly reduced time on the boat due to later departure time out and earlier return flight.
We were met at Cairo by a member of BO2 who gave us our Visas and ensured that we got to the transfer area for our onward flight. When at Hurghada we were met by the local office staff who transferred us to a coach that took us to the Marriot Hotel where our boat was waiting. All of our cases were transferred onto the boat for us. All we had to do was select a cylinder and set up our dive gear on it and then food was provided (1am)
The next morning we set sail for a quick check dive ensuring that we had the correct weight for the week.
Following the morning dive we ate breakfast and sailed to our first wreck of the week 3 hours away. The week consisted of 16 dives on a variety of wrecks including those at Brother Island and also the Thistlegorm plus many more. Each day consisted of dive, eat, rest repeat for at least 3 dives a day occasionally 4.
The staff couldn’t do enough to help from giving us amazing food, ensuring we were kitted up and down before and after dives and ensuring that we were briefed about the wreck before we left the boat including a nit of history about the boat and why it sank etc.
We made full use of the 2 dive guides over the week using them for most of the dives. Not only did they show us round the wrecks but also ensured that we saw fish that we wouldn’t have spotted otherwise, whilst also sllowing us a chance to explorer the wrecks for ourselves.
We saw so much and had a great time on the Adventurer. Looking forward to my next trip with Blue O two. – via
