Great place to start your diving adventure! We did not stay at the hotel but we did sign up for the PADI open water dive class. Krit was our dive master and he was super accommodating even with our tight schedule on Gili. We were able to finish the course with his amazing guidance and still have time to party. Shout out to Krit and Jack for showing us the tips and tricks on underwater survival. – via

I stayed here for a month and loved it! The dive center is awesome and I love the staff from the bartenders to dive guides to management and everyone in between. It’s a very lively and upbeat dive center and there is always someone willing to help out. I also stayed at the hotel for a month and had a great time. The rooms are very spacious and have a mini fridge, TV, coffee maker, fresh water, hot water, AC, and wifi. You also get free breakfast which was super tasty and you order off a menu not just your typical buffet style continental breakfast. I highly recommend a downstairs room by the pool. The pool constantly has a stream/movement so there’s no mosquitos as it’s not standing water. There is also plenty of shade at the pool. I had many meals at Blue Marlin and they were all excellent. The location is on the main strip so you’re central to everything and a quick bike ride to the sunset strip. I miss Gili already and all the friends I made at Blue Marlin. If you need a place to dive and stay this is a great option!!!! – via

I signed up for the open diver PADI course, and I can’t recommend the place enough.
The team is very professional and friendly at the same time. It’s a very supportive atmosphere.
Krit was my instructor, and I can’t say enough good things about him. Extremely thorough, and patient, he makes you feel like you’re in good hands. This is so important when the first time diving experience for a newbie can be terrifying at times. He was super encouraging and supportive throughout.

Super plongée réalisée en français ce qui rassure grandement vs en anglais.
J’ai réalisé ce baptême avec Léa, super instructrice française qui m’a mis en confiance, qui était à l’écoute et qui m’expliquait chaque étape. On voit les bases de plongée dans la piscine, petit break pour manger puis direction les tortues! Le centre est très quali, on peut stocker nos affaires dans un casier avec un cadenas, possible de manger/dormir sur place. Merci pour cette superbe expérience ???? – via

Completed my Open Water PADI at Blue Marlin Trawangan last month and can’t recommend them highly enough!
Our instructor Vivien was fantastic, very patient and understanding, providing great demonstrations in both the pool and ocean.
And the location is perfect, with the centre and practice pool mere steps from the ocean where you hop on the boats.
We stayed at the Blue Marlin Hotel while completing the course, and though it wasn’t the cheapest accommodation around, it was definitely worth it. As was nice being part of the community during our course, being able to roll out of bed into the water, enjoy the food and bar at the centre, as well as spending the evenings with the instructors who were all beyond friendly and welcoming. – via

The Discover Scuba Dive session, which started in the pool, caused an almost uncontrollable panic attack in the first 20 minutes – how is it to “flood your mask and clean it of water at the bottom” ??? But then things got more fun and the first dive in the ocean was magical!
The trial lesson was conducted by a wonderful English-speaking instructor Grant. I immediately decided to take the “Open Water” course (3-4 days).
I was very lucky that on the same day I met another instructor of this dive center – Oleg @mytimedive! After talking, I realized how many important points slipped away from me already on the first day of training, although everything is in order with English, but not with special terms! There are things that were not always clear in Russian, and Oleg explained them thoroughly. All this turned into 4 hard and eventful days spent studying at the bottom of the pool, diving and practicing in the ocean, reading theory and passing exams.
In the evenings, she fell asleep without bringing her head to the pillow! If you want to try yourself in this history, you will not find a better place and a better instructor! Oleg will not let you skip the development of any skills, he will answer all the questions in the process, and the training will be safe, comfortable and fun! So, it will be impossible not to fall in love with diving

Случайно заселилась в этот отель, сам остров обошла за одно утро и через день заскучала.
Смотрела-смотрела вечером на тренировки в бассейне и решилась попробовать!
Занятие Discover Scuba Dive, начавшееся в бассейне, в первые 20 минут вызвало почти неконтролируемый приступ паники – как это “затопить свою маску и там же на дне её очистить от воды”??? Но дальше дело пошло веселее и первое погружение в океане было волшебным!
Пробное занятие проводил замечательный англоговорящий инструктор Грант. Я сразу решила взять курс “Open Water” (3-4 дня).
Очень повезло, что я в тот же день познакомилась с еще одним инструктором этого дайв-центра – Олегом @mytimedive! Пообщавшись, поняла, сколько важных моментов от меня ускользнуло уже в первый день обучения, хотя с английским все в порядке, но не со специальными терминами! Есть вещи, которые на русском не всегда были понятны, и Олег досконально их объяснял. Всё это переросло в 4 тяжёлых и насыщенных дня, проведённых за обучением на дне бассейна, за погружениями и практикой в океане, за чтением теории и сдачей экзаменов.
Вечерами засыпала, не донеся голову до подушки! Если вы хотите попробовать себя в этой истории, лучшего места и лучшего инструктора не найдёте! Олег не даст вам скипануть отработку каких-либо навыков, ответит на все вопросы в процессе, и обучение пройдет безопасно, комфортно и весело! Так, что в дайвинг невозможно будет не влюбиться
И не могу не отметить отличную работу всего персонала дайв-центра! Спасибо за прекрасную организацию и за атмосферу!
Ну, а я получила свой первый сертификат PADI и решила остаться на Гили Т еще на 3 недели
