I just finished my Divemaster training with Blue Magic Scuba and I don’t think I have the words to describe how amazing it was. Javi and Monica are fantastic (I did most of my training with Monica) and the entire staff is outstanding. If you want to explore the professional side of diving, the Divemaster program is the best. Monica made the learning fun and is focused on your success. You will work and study hard, and find every moment is fantastic. If you’re going to be diving just for fun in Cozumel, check out Blue Magic. The instructors/guides are very knowledgeable and are experts at creating a safe and very fun diving experience. And they are the most amazing people. If you are planning to get your Open Water or Advanced, again, Blue Magic is the place for you. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. – via

I did my final shore dives and open water dives with Blue Magic while I was on vacation in Cozumel. My instructor Mauricio was amazing! I would highly recommend Blue Magic and specifically Mauricio for your next scuba trip, or if you are looking to get PADI certified. – via

I booked a 4 day dive package with blue magic. They have some very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

However, there was one staff member who was an assistant instructor in training named Abby, who was incredibly rude. Normally I wouldn’t write something like this about someone, but her behavior was very discraceful. Swearing at me in the hostel, and wouldn’t help at all in the dive shop. I didn’t feel comfortable around her (or safe) at all. She even reamed me out in front of a large group of people, degrading me for making a simple mistake. My holiday wasn’t very much fun because of her.
So if you’re going to book anything with blue magic, make sure Abby isn’t on your boat. She is useless – via

Got our open water and ow advanced here, our masters and instructors were the best! Mau, and Vero completely recommended as teachers and Ana was a lovely dive master. Would repeat and recommend. All the boat staff was also very kind. The dive sites are overwhelmingly beautiful. – via

I took my open water certificate here with Ernesto as an instructor. He was really great, sweet, pleasant and welcoming. Really good at English. I was really nervous, but Ernesto was very patient and made me feel at ease and safe. We got to see some fantastic animals and corrals, which he was good at spotting. I am really motivated after my experience and ready to practice, learn and become a better diver. Wish I could come back right away and do some more dives Thank you so much Blue Magic! – via

My sister and I did the ReActivate Scuba course plus two additional dive days with Blue Magic Scuba. Contacting and reserving our course and dives was really easy, Randa was super helpful with everything and provided all kind of info for us. We were both a bit nervous as it had been a year for my sister and over 3 years for me since our last dive. The ReActivate course eased that a lot and was definitely necessary. We went through all the important things about before, during and after diving in the class room, and did some excercises on our first dive.

Between the dives we were offered fresh fruits and cookies. They also handled our gear for us every single time.

Overall every person in the staff were great. We had Ernesto as our instructor, he’s really professional and so so patient whenever we had some kind of problems. The boat crew and and dive master trainees were also so nice and helpful. It’s easy to see that they all enjoy and love what they do.

If we ever go back to Meixco and Cozumel, this is going to be the dive center we use! – via

Dive masters were great dives varied. Lovely to see healthy sea grass. The reason for the 1*. I was sick this morning. Not terribly sick but need to stay in bed sick. Policy is 50$ per person if you cancel. Now policies are at the discretion of the company. They could have said 10$ each (or nothing). They had plenty of other divers going and we would have dove tomorrow anyway. No harm no foul. Now I’m 47 old enough to know my limits. But a kid could get in serious trouble if they’re down to their last 25$ and dad’s chasing them to not spend any more money! Policies are always discretionary. Now this is a 5* PADI shop, the last star should be knocked off for lack of humanity- I shall be telling PADI the same not for me but for the young person who gets in trouble
Because sadly perhaps 90% of dive shops would react the same
Very positive they helped me get my equipment onto the boat, I’m arthritic and with sickness would have just had to float to the beach. Thank you driver and lovely lady helping with equipment and to the two instructors/guides – via

Just wanted to share my recent dive experience with Blue Magic Scuba, especially for those beginner divers who are just starting out like me.

my friends and I, both Open Water newbies, got thrown into a group of six with four experienced divers with over 50 dives each. This mismatched grouping significantly impacted the quality of the experience for both groups.

One of the major drawbacks was the lack of individual attention. I told the Dive Master, Mauricio, about my 6-dive résumé and a little sniffle I had that day. But nope, he assumed we were all pros.As the last one to exit the boat, I was left alone in the water as the group descended. Despite a reminder from another diver, the descent proceeded without waiting for me, leading to a panicked attempt and unsuccessful descent. Mauricio’s response was unexpectedly harsh, including yelling and threats to go down immediately or head back to the boat.

Communication? Zilch. No pre-dive briefing, no post-dive check-up. I even shot an email to Monica, the store manager, about the experience. While I got a refund, the reason she gave was kinda absurd – not having a private guide assigned to me. Seriously?

So, if you’re a beginner looking for a more safe and enjoyable dive experience, Blue Magic Scuba might not be your best bet. The lack of attention to individual needs, poor communication, and mismatched groupings will significantly impact your experience. – via

I did Discover Scuba with Lore (and Shelby!). Blue Magic made it easy and fun every step of the way – they accommodated us with less than 24 hour notice and had the whole trip squared away. It was clear Lore was well trained and concerned for our safety. We saw a giant Eagle ray, tons of fish, eels and a lot of other marine life.

No complaints, all smiles, would gladly recommend & repeat my experience at Blue Magic. Thanks to Lore & the team for a great day in the ocean. – via

I booked a 5 day dive package and paid on arrival, but had to cancel after 3 days because of health problems. After telling the staff, i got a refund for the remaining 2 days immediately, no problem at all. Also, the divemasters are great and it was a great experience diving with Blue Magic in Cozumel overall. Would highly recommend them and will definitely come back and dive with them again. – via

I did a refresher course (worth it if you’re questioning it!) plus a 2 dive day package with Blue Magic. There are many dive companies on the island and I’m glad I chose them. Very professional and organized, everything ran smoothly. I’m also very impressed by the amount of female scuba guides and front desk was also female when I was there. Anna and Hope were fantastic. 3 days of diving and got to experience various dive site offerings of beautiful underwater flora and marine life. (Saw a turtles and Eagle rays every day!) Happy to keep coming back to Blue Magic when I return to Cozumel for awesome diving. – via
