My husband, 8-year-old son and I took a surf lesson with Blue Horizon. The instructors were very friendly, and extremely competent and hands on. Very professional. They explained everything so well and made us feel comfortable and safe at all times (even on a day like the one we had, when the waves were unusually huge!) I really liked that they provided an instructor for each student that stayed with us the whole time. My son had never tried surfing before but picked it up fast! It was a very positive experience, and we would highly recommend them. – via

Well organized to book and for pick up but it’s more a surf experience than a lesson. A 20 year old instructor that barely spoke English that couldn’t give any feedback. Make sure to ask for someone more experienced and that can actually speak English if you don’t speak spanish – via

Great option for surf school in Manuel Antonio! Our local host connected us with Blue Horizon. The driver picked us up at our Air Bnb and returned us at the end of the day which was super convenient. The school is located on a beautiful strip of beach that is much less crowded than the main MA beach. Surf instructors were amazing with our kids ages 11 and 14 who were first time surfers. I loved that they had one instructor assigned to each kid so they were never alone out there and got lots of individual attention. It felt very safe, which is a concern with rip currents in this area. The kids were able to get up right away with the help of their instructors and got lots of great rides. The instructors even made an effort to get the two kids going at the same time so I could get an awesome picture, which was above and beyond. The staff provided chairs and an umbrella for the non-surfing parents for a small extra fee, and kids got fruit and refreshments midway through. Overall great experience–there are tons of surf schools in the area and I am glad we ended up with Blue Horizon. – via

Ricardo and the staff @ Blue Horizon are outstanding! Take the family for an amazing experience on the waves of Manuel Antonio. They also coach up the veteran wave riders to get you back surfing the bigger waves, Great group of surfer instructors for people at any level. Tony was my instructor he is a cool laid back guy and knows how to coach folks on surfing. Blue horizon surf school is located on a beautiful beach that has close easy access from the parking area. They arrange bus pickup if needed, with nice clean buses that show up on time. and drop off within feet of the beach. The staff speak English for the non Spanish speaking. Go surf with this group, all will have a great time on the waves at a beach location that is truly stunning. – via
