5.0/ 5

A wonderful stay and 4 dives with the Beqa Lagoon resort team. After a lengthy transit down from Nadi (4-5 hrs) we were given a very warm welcome at Beqa led by the ever-friendly Filo. Our Bure was very well equipped with ac, and private pool (for soaking rather than laps). The dive team led by Brandon and Missy were excellent. I did 4 dives in total including two of the famous Shark dives and was greatly impressed by the professionalism of the dive team. The shark dives in particular were very memorable with tigers, bulls, lemon and nurse sharks making for a fantasising couple of dives. The other dives were on very pretty coral reefs with a healthy level of biodiversity of the smaller scale. Overall a very welcoming enjoyable and excellent value 3 nights and thanks to the whole resort team for a wonderful stay. I’m sure I’ll be back. Highly recommended. – via google

Beautiful resort, lovely staff.
The only thing that was a bit strange was the food times and not much choice in food. Next time we will bring some snacks for in between meal times. – via google

I’ll keep this short. This past summer, a group of us went to this resort for the 3rd time, my 2nd time. The diving was OK, but the staff where amazing! We stayed for 2 weeks since we live on the east coast of the USA so we got the opportunity to get to know the staff more than your average guest. Apparently the whether didn’t allow us to go to the other side of the island so we ended up diving a lot of sites twice. The reef is not doing well. There is dead coral as far as the eye can see, but it does appear that the reef is fighting back and could make a full recovery. The dive boats where leagues better than what they had last time, so I was very happy to see that the resort made that very costly investment. Highly recommend the shark dive!

The facility was relatively unchanged in the 5 years it had been since our first trip, which is not a bad thing by any means. The grounds are beautiful with many plants that I recognized from our local green house, but where much bigger and healthier as they were native here. Simply amazing! The waterfall hike was very special since that’s where I purposed to my partner so I was very grateful that the hike was still an option. If I was to gripe about something it would be the excessive use of cilantro! It tastes like soap to me and it was on EVERYTHING! Even if the menu didn’t specifically call it out, I’d started just requesting no Cilantro on everything to be safe.

I ended up getting very sick right as we were to travel home. The staff stepped up to take the best care of us they could. They got medicine from the mainland and even called in a PA to examine me. I genuinely felt their concern for me. Will I go back? Probably not for many years as travelling that sick was beyond miserable but, and I want to make this very clear, it’s not because the staff did anything wrong or otherwise didn’t do something that they should have. You truly are home when you are on Beqa. – via google

Okay so we loved it so much we went back a second time. Last trip was in April 2022 and we could see that the reef was definitely growing back in particular the soft corals even during this short period. Recovering from a cyclone the magnitude that Fiji had suffered is taking a while but its getting there.
We saw some spectacular reef in particular “Blue Wall” which is a little distant from the resort but worth the trip for the spectacular reef and fabulous caves and swimthroughs.
This time we got to see a tiger shark on our shark dive. It was absolutely fantastic. We felt safe but it was definitely exciting and a dive I am keen to repeat as soon as I can. The Divemaster crew were very vigilant with our safety on the shark dive and had one divemaster for every two divers to keep us safe.
The resort was as always beautiful with delightful staff and I really loved the food (I don’t have any dietary requirements). I think the activities were a little more professional on this trip, the fire dancing in particular was a really polished performance. Local village and school visits were fabulous (although I purchased a couple large shells from local villagers only to find that Fiji does not allow them out of the country at the airport and they were confiscated – fortunately I was not in any trouble though).
Showers are a bit hard to adjust the temp but otherwise the rooms are gorgeous and the view of the beach from the pool area is the stuff of dreams.
We took school items (pencils, books etc.) which were really appreciated. This trip we took a LOT of snacks because although the meals are hearty serves, there wasn’t a look of choice of snack items in the boutique to purchase. The boutique had some really awesome clothes including some fabulous lycra suits. I dived the whole time in only a lycra suit and was very warm. My hubby wore a 3mm suit and said he would NOT have wanted anything thicker. We usually dive on the southern NSW coast in Australia so we aren’t used the heat tbh
We booked our Trip with Dive Adventures. – via google
