Let me start this off by saying that I have 74 dives under my belt. I am very comfortable in the water and consider myself to be a proficient enough diver. Once I got down to some depth I realized that my respirator was leaking a small amount of water upon inhalation. I switched to the secondary respirator and continued to have the same issue. I then signaled to ascend because I was very uncomfortable and I know how equipment is supposed to function. This alone would not have been an issue because I realize equipment can sometimes not operate perfectly. However upon surfacing with me the diving guide (do not know her name) would not hear me out regarding the equipment and instead criticized me for “not calming down” under water and said “it’s not nice to blame equipment”. On top of all that she mocked me as I was leaving the facility! I am a very understanding person but that is an unacceptable response when a diver under your supervision expresses concerns with his/her respirator. I have never experienced such incredibly rude treatment in any establishment regardless of the product. I would recommend people choose literally any other diving center on santorini before taking a trip with the santorini dive center. – via
