River Caving Tour – This is hands down one of the best things to do in Puerto Rico. Highly recommend Batey Adventures.
Our tour guide Edgar is Amazing!!
If you are driving from San Juan or Arecibo, try taking Road 10. The drive is beautiful!
Pack light and atleast carry a waterproof pouch for Phone, Car Keys etc. If you don’t have one, they are available for purchase at their office. Be prepared to get wet. It’s the best part 🙂 – via

The 4-hour (actually closer to 5) River Caving Tour was an amazing adventure!
Edgar was a joy to get to know and provided so much info on the vegetation and history. The journey consists of slippery rocks, mountain paths, some rock “climbing”, and river trekking (you will absolutely be in the water). As the description of the tour alludes to, being in moderate physical shape will truly make your experience better. We suggest to be as “light” with what you wear/bring as possible. A WATERPROOF bag for phone for pics (there is no service), water, and a light snack is really all you need. You might consider leaving car keys with your car. – via

Edwin and Omar were wonderful tour guides. They were very attentive and helpful. They stopped to tell us about the river and the variety of trees and plants. Showed us how to drink spring water catching in a leaf. It was so pure and delicious. Kayaking through the cave was so amazing and the arch was beautiful. Thanks for a great adventure. – via

We took the hiking/kayaking tour with our three grandchildren, ages 9-15, who live in PR. We are 69 and 71 years old but in good shape, and our grandchildren frequently hike mountains with their parents. The sites through the caves and forests were ethereal and breathtaking. The hike is a bit challenging over rocks near the river and can be muddy on the steep forest trails, but if you are in good shape and have good shoes, it is not to be missed. Our water boots were perfect as we could hike and swim in them. Omar, our guide, was knowledgeable, informative, patient with the kids insistence on exploring a little further, and very attentive. When we asked about places to eat, he suggested La Familia Pizzeria, a small family restaurant about a mile east of the Batey office. We filled the kids up with pizza and spaghetti before our long drive back home. The entire experience was one of our best in Puerto Rico. – via

This tour was one of our highlights in Puerto Rico for sure! Omar was excessively nice, patient and safe. He did everything he could to make us feel comfortable throughout the whole tour. Great kayak experience in the caves and then through the forest with some swimming parts.
The tour can be somewhat expensive but worth it. I would definitely recommend. – via
