I had the best time getting my PADI open water diving license with Bans diving resort. My teacher Maria was the best – she taught clearly, kept us calm and was always clear with her instructions and directions. Lessons and open water dives felt safe and enjoyable under her care. I took the Open Water Diving course at Ban’s. My experience has been great- the dorms and nice and clean, the location right on Sairee beach means it is super close to everything and the resort exceeded my expectations with its multiple pools, lovely gardens and pick up by golf cart (a luxury I did not expect as a budget backpacker!). Maria was my instructor for the course and she was absolutely amazing, so fun, energetic, knowledgeable and made us all feel safe and confident. A real life mermaid!?? Thank you Maria????????? – via

Great stay at Bans including the open water course. Me and my partner were really well accommodated with different course options and flexible on dates for booking and changing rooms.

Cons: Breakfast is pretty poor for what you pay for, ants on the buffet tables so not well kept.

Had my first open water course of scuba dive which was long awaits in my bucket list …. The staff , the manager , the service team were top notch and special thanks to my instructor @soraya who taught me so well and in detail and the way she guided me during my course was really special and now im confident enough to dive again soon.. im surely gonna come again and do my advance course from big bubble only. One of the greatest experiences i got from big bubble..

Das ressort ist gut, großes dorf, in dem fußläufig alles erreicht. Die Zimmer sind je nach Preis ok, die günstigen sollte man meiden, wirklich unglaublich spärlich eingerichtet und nicht sauber, die teureren (wir konnten ein günstiges upgrade raushandeln) sind gut aber iwie feucht, was auch an unseren durchs Tauchen stets nassen Klamotten gelegen haben könnte.
Tauchkurs:
Wir haben den tauchkurs für Anfänger Open Water Diver gemacht. Tatsächlich sogar auf deutsch möglich, was bei den basics die sehr technisch sind, zu empfehlen ist. Tolle Gruppe mit geduldigen und lustigen aber trotzdem immer auf Sicherheit und Lernerfolg bedachten Tauchlehrern. Wirklich gute Erfahrungen, wir hatten viel Spaß und wollen auf jeden Fall mit dem Tauchen weitermachen. – via

I stayed 11 nights at bans and they really looked after me well and went above and beyond. The accomodation was central and excellent. The diving courses were even better, I felt very supported by my instructors and they guided me to become a far more confident diver than I could have imagined. I must say the entire experience was wonderful. The hotel has a variety of rooms, a fabulous bar (very important) and an awesome diving academy.
Maria was our trainer and she is wonderful, she is s bundle of joy and has a lovely dog too. I think she made learning both fun and easy, I’m a simple being. To continue, we also had Coal Train (further trainer) for a few days who was super helpful and his name fascinates me.
Lovely group to work with, brilliant diving and the old fashioned to celebrate was top notch.
