Gem of a place to stay mainly because the staff are so friendly, smiley and helpful. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Good WiFi. The hotel is on the beach with a lovely restaurant and bar to enjoy the view, comfortable sun loungers and shades on the beach. Clean sandy beach and sea (very large waves may not be suitable for young children). The breakfast was excellent (sri lankan option). Cannot recommend highly enough if you’re staying in Trincomalee. – via

The room was good for our stay. We had 2 comfortable beds, an AC and 2 fans, but no TV. The bathroom was a bit problematic with the sliding shower door and water heating, but very functional and good quality. We’re being a bit nit-picky here.

Service was very good as well and all the employees were extremely friendly and well-mannered. They left our room spick and span and even put a little design on the towels and quilts!

However, the food that they provided superseded our expectations. The food is beyond restaurant quality and you WILL NOT regret eating here.

We arrived during the wet season, so the tide was high and was constantly raining. We did not see a single bit of blue sky at all during our stay. As a result, the beach looked dreary, occasionally inhabited by stray dogs. BUT we think this would be a great location if we arrived at the correct time.

So here’s a pro tip: Visit here during Sri Lanka’s dry season (April – September) to have blue skies and a fantastic beach. – via

Mixed feelings.

The room was not excellent, but the bathroom was spacious and clean. The room was ok, but there was a dead fly on the bed (which should have been cleaned at checkin). But the bed was really comfy. Bathroom was comparatively very spacious, clean and pretty good. We had some issues with hot water not working though in the morning. The location is really great with no more than 50 meters to a clean peaceful beach (this property borders the beach).

Service was really good. Not a place to avoid, but there maybe better places for this price.

BUT, do try out their restaurant. That was out of this world! One of the best in trinco. – via

Michelle and Jamie highly recommend staying here!
Staff are so friendly and go to extra effort to make your stay amazing.
Ann and Nishanthan did an amazing job decorating our room !! Food was excellent and the beach access was easy via a paved path through a lovely garden . The beach is very clean and there are lots of activities you can choose. We enjoyed snorkelling over the reef, swimming and sun baking on lounge beds with sun umbrellas. Jay and his team make lovely cocktails and the beer is always cold!! We also recommend lunch or a bbq dinner enjoying a beach fire they often light up!! Office staff manage this place very well and nothing is a problem!!
We stayed 8 nights with Blue sand resort and highly recommend this accomodation !! – via
