If you expect to be coddled (as reflected in a few of the 1-star reviews), this ain’t your dive shop. If you want to talk to people who really know their stuff and are passionate about diving, who will spend a lot of time with you picking out the right equipment whether you spend a lot or a little, and who will go above and beyond to make sure you’re in the right equipment, look no further. Just don’t expect a BS sales person, the owner is very serious about what she does, and is very good at it. Be patient, wait your turn (it can get crowded here), and be respectful, and you’ll find this staff friendly and accommodating. – via

Realized we left our Rx masks at our place in Florida less than 2 weeks before leaving for the Dominican Republic ?? Aqua Diving saved us. They have prescription lenses in STOCK and were able to outfit us with masks for the trip. Extremely helpful and at a fantastic price point. – via

We had forgotten our prescription dive masks in Florida and we are heading to the Dominican Republic in two weeks it wasn’t going to be easy to get them up here to Maine and our son Adam said to go to Aqua Diving Academy as he gets all his masks there.
We walked in and less than a hour we had two masks fitted with lenses ready to go.

I stopped in- just after lunch rush- ordered to go- $$ to $$$$ items- which I Love that! Great service. Very warmly- very respectful. Atmosphere was subtle but it was a laughter chatty environment. THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD those other points DID NOT MATTER. I could of gotten injured and still will be back- with Love- Lance from Florida ps CHOWDER! – via

Stepping into Aqua Diving, you might be super overwhelmed by how much stuff they have managed to pack into their tiny store by the water. But they have everything you could possibly need to go snorkeling and diving–in warm and cold water! They also offer SCUBA classes and diving trips! I purchased a prescription snorkel mask here in 2013 and went back recently to get a new snorkel mask because my old one had a crack in it. They were able to pull up my purchase history and find the model and prescription strength that I had used in 2013. Julie patiently helped me find updated lenses and they got me a new mask within 30 minutes. Great service and a reasonable price! – via

This is the best dive store in the world. Most expertise! Inventory great…prices good. Julie runs a top notch place. Jim is very helpful and knowledgeable. Have not seen Lee around lately. Have purchased equipment for my daughter and her boyfriend there too. Great shop on Casco Bay. Right next to a must go-to restaurant Becky’s (noth’n finah dinah!)

I think I previously reviewed Aqua Diving Academy. I got my certification all the way back in 1970….as soon as I was old enough. Back then I had a discontinued scuba tank made by Kidde Fire Extinguisher Company. K-valve, BCs non-existent…that was of course BC…so long ago. Anyway I have been throughout the Caribbean, Australia . Florida. To me this is the BEST dive shop I have been to. Even the equipment prices are great. Julie and Jim are the best! Jeff – via
