My daughter had an amazing experience. The communication leading up to trio was easy to follow. The activities were wonderful. The organization of the marine biology study, the diving, hikes etc were all very well done. The communication with parents (via email about possible storm and the daily blog posts/photos) was well done. She already wants to go back next year for divemaster! – via

ActionQuest was a great program, wonderful staff and leaders, extremely well run and my kid had an amazing time. We loved the blog posts that the students wrote each day and also loved the electronics holiday for the kids. The structure of the program combines fun and academic challenges and teaches teens to be more self-sufficient, and confident. Our son built lasting friendships and came home with advanced scuba certifications -things that will last him throughout his life. I was also impressed by the professional and organized application process and the helpful and friendly support staff. Highly recommend this program and only sorry it took us so long to find it. – via

ActionQuest was a wonderful life-affirming transformative experience for our daughter. It teaches kids responsibility and self-reliance. It pushes them slightly beyond their comfort zones in a really fun, educational and caring way. As one student said “we got to have experiences that most people only dream about”.

Not only is Action Quest really well organised, but our daughter learned so many diving and marine biology skills and made a family of lifelong friends. We really appreciated the early communication on the potential hurricane and the way it was handled. The daily blog and pictures were fantastic and really exceeded our expectations. The staff, crew and teachers were inspirational role models.

We also thought it was excellent that the students didn’t have phones and learned to live in the moment again – actually playing games and talking to each other – such a gift in today’s digitally saturated world.

ActionQuest was a life-changing, hugely positive experience for our daughter where she was able to share ideas and experiences with like-minded kids. – via

This was our twin girls 4th summer with AQ, and they said it was the best one yet. Obtaining that assessment from two 17 year olds is a remarkable achievement. As always, the planning and programming was first-rate, and the staff were highly qualified and supportive. The girls loved being with them and the other divers. AQ has had a profound impact on their growing into adulthood. The program is extremely well-managed and staffed with highly qualified individuals. Mike M’s leadership, experience, and expertise enables us to feel totally comfortable while the girls are away. – via

ActionQuest exceeded my expectations. My son had a life-changing adventure of a lifetime. ActionQuest delivered on every promise and managed our expectations perfectly. I loved the platform and how all of the steps we had to take as parents to prepare were clear and tracked. I liked how WE were vetted as well. My son loved the chemistry of his ActionQuest family. As parents, we never had any doubt that our son was safe and in capable, professional hands. – via

Our daughter had an amazing time! She loved the Action Quest Team, loved the people on her boat, learned a TON, earned her Open Water certification, and is incredibly effusive in her praise of every aspect of her time on the Vega trip.

Everything was brilliant, according to our daughter. She can be a picky eater and she loved the food, loved the activities, loved the training, LOVED the staff. She loved every single person on her sailboat and remains in close touch with the group. She is adamant about returning next year. – via

AQ is the highlight of our daughters’ year. Every aspect of their adventure was outstanding including but not limited to the support and professionalism of the staff, the quality of the programming and activities, and the thoughtfulness of the planning of the entire session. What’s best about ActionQuest? So many things beginning with the qualifications and professionalism of the staff. I am writing this on behalf of my daughter Grace, who has gone for two years. When I hit the link to write a review it is not allowing me to change the user (sorry not very strong with tech). Anyways, Grace LOVED each experience (advanced certification 2021 and Rescue diving 2022). Each trip she met a wonderful group of friends which she continues to keep in touch with. She was able to see some remarkable places (although there were some restrictions due to the pandemic, which was understandable). More importantly she learned very important skills and experiences in diving through the lessons, reading materials, and exercises while at camp. She has already put those skills to good use. We took a Cruise August 2022 and booked a dive outside the cruise ship (which I often do without any problems). This one dive in the Caribbean wasn’t the safest. Grace alerted the Dive Master he took the gorup of us (about 8 of us) too deep at the depth of 129. She tapped him and showed him her dive watch, at which time he directed us to all ascend up. My son, who is only a Jr. diver shouldn’t go that deep. I believe the dive boat dropped us off about 100 yards off from the correct spot and a recent storm made it difficult to find the cliffs they were looking for. Any case, after finding it my son used a lot of air and did his safety stop with the dive master and surfaced. The dive master left a local teenage boy with the rest of the group. Although the teenager may know how to dive, knows the area well he wasn’t responsible enough for the group. Grace began doing hand signals to alert everyone to do a safety stop. She indicated how many minutes we had as every minute went by. If anyone started to go to high she would signal to them to come down to her level. Overall she took over the situation and used the skills and techniques she learned at ActionQuest. So THANK you Actionquest for teaching her such valuable skills that were put to good use. Many friends, family and strangers who overheard any discussions about Actionquest know Grace’s feelings about it- SHE loved every minute of it. The crew, the friends, the boat, the landscape, the excursions, the water sports, the beaches, the hiking, and the swimming. The ONLY thing she complained about was the food (not the highest reviews) but I think shes being too critical. We would recommend the program to anyone interested in going. We hope she can go back next year. – via

Our son is definitely more confident, talkative, empathetic and motivated about his future after coming back from his trip. The perfect combination of independence, co-living, learning and no electronics! I loved having the blogs to read, so kudos for those.

On a non-CoVid year, I could see that this is a well-worn path that AQ has perfected over the years, but they should be commended for stepping up and adapting to the CoVid testing, restrictions, and challenges this summer presented. – via

Mike did a amazing job accommodating us after flew in from Michigan just to find out our dive charter was canceled from another dive shop. Mike hooked us up with tanks and shore diving info and then did a guided shore dive with the shop the following day. We hooked up with Melissa during the guided dive and had an amazing time diving with her at the 3 Piers location and then a second dive at the Spanish Rocks Reef location. – via
