Stay away from this place for a “romantic” sunset dhow cruise. When we arrived, the people at the counter did not even think there was a sunset cruise scheduled that day. Once we showed our confirmation, they made a call and someone showed up with a cooler, a bottle of white wine and 2 beers. Thinking it would be a romantic sunset cruise we showed up in casual clothes( long pants) and were forced to walk through the water getting our pants soaked to the upper thigh before getting on the cruise. Once the cruise started we were packed on the ship like sardines. It was so bad that one passenger actually had a boat come meet us in the middle of the ocean to take her back to land. As I drink beer,the two beers were gone within the first 45 minutes. And that was it. No water. No one else on the ship were provided even that amount of alcohol, which further leads us to believe that we were not on our intended dhow ship. The wine was below average. All in all, this was the only excursion throughout our time in Zanzibar, that missed the mark from beginning to end. – via
