My dive with Abyss Scuba Diving was nothing short of amazing! Despite the low visibility, the underwater world at Bass and Flinders point & Bare Island was teeming with incredible marine life. We had the thrill of seeking out Wobbegong, and the experience was unforgettable. The Abyss team’s professionalism and emphasis on safety made the dive enjoyable and worry-free. Special shoutout to Aaron G. Dickerson for their expertise and guidance. Compared to other dive operators, Abyss shines for their commitment to conservation and top-notch service. I recently had the pleasure of exploring the underwater world with Abyss Scuba Diving, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with my experience. Opting for their open water diving course, I embarked on an adventure that took me to some of the most stunning diving sites around Bare Island, Bass and Finders Point. Each site offered a unique glimpse into the marine life and underwater terrains, making every dive an exhilarating experience.
The team at Abyss Scuba Diving truly made the experience unforgettable. Their expertise, enthusiasm, and the wealth of useful information they provided made me feel both safe and exhilarated at every turn. It was not just a diving course; it was a fun-filled adventure that taught me so much about the underwater world. Aaron G Dickerson, in particular, deserves a shoutout for his exceptional guidance and support throughout the course. His passion for diving is contagious, and his knowledge of the dive sites added so much value to the experience.
While I haven’t explored other diving services for comparison, I can confidently say that the level of service and the quality of experience provided by Abyss Scuba Diving are top-notch. Their great team dynamic and the fun atmosphere they create are unparalleled.
For those considering Abyss for their diving adventures, you won’t be disappointed. They boast a large selection of equipment to cater to all your needs, although it’s worth noting that prices might be slightly higher than other stores in Australia. However, the quality of service and the exceptional diving experience you get are well worth the investment.

I was very impressed with Abyss Scuba Diving from the moment I first reached out to them to request a private PADI refresher course and enriched air certification. They were very responsive and worked around my schedule and needs to deliver exactly what I wanted. A very special thank you to Christy who was my instructor. He was incredibly friendly, patient, and professional and I felt very fortunate to have him as an instructor. He gave me the confidence I needed to return to the sport after a long hiatus. I just completed the PADI ReActivate with Abyss after not having dived for quite a while, and now feel comfortable and confident about diving again. A special callout to Graham, our instructor, who was informative, thorough, supportive and really helpful. The pace of the instruction was perfect; we covered a lot but in a way that allowed everything to sink in. Over the course of the day Graham guided us through all of the essential skills we might need for open water diving, and then capped it off by leading us on a shore dive off Cronulla. It was more than just a refresher course; it was a really great day. It was delivered professionally and kindly for everyone in the group, in which there were differing levels of expertise and confidence. Lunch was part of the deal offered by Abyss but I felt it was a bit light on. But in the scheme of things, doing the ReActivate was of course the reason for being there and that was excellent! – via

I recently completed my OW course at Abyss.
My instructor, Christy, made it a memorable experience. He was professional, extremely patient and helped me build up my confidence. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor.
Many thanks to Jordan and Bo for the support during the course. And to the two guys at reception (sorry, I didn’t catch your names) who were so kind and reassuring when I felt anxious on day 2.
