Very nice Diveshop located directly at Sandy Bay beach and close to the main restaurant in the area. Large outdoor spaces for divers to hangout while waiting for getting aboard the safe boats with a very trustfull staff that will take you to the best divesites in Roatan. – via google

Sandy Bay Divers was one of the best ran dive shops on the island! John was able to pick us up nearby for our dives, they have an amazing staff at the center and a cute dog. We dove with both Velvet and Ernie and both were amazing, Carson got us to the locations and the entire staff was just top notch. My husband is a more experienced diver than myself and they made the experience amazing. Definitely going back to them if I return to Roatan and will be recommending! – via google

My boyfriend and I were recently in Roatan and dove w Sandy Bay Divers. I’m a relatively new diver, only certified in the spring of this year and had 6 dives under my belt while my boyfriend has over 30 years experience. The first thing that stood out to me about Sandy Bay was how quickly they made me feel relaxed and welcome (thank you co owner John!) and the time they spent to be sure I had the support I needed to enjoy my dive was SO appreciated as it had been almost 6 months since my last time in the ocean so I was a little rusty. The commitment to small group experience, master diver expertise (Ernie and Roy rocked under water while Carson made sure transit to and from our dive sites was seamless) and overall intimate approach made me instantly feel comfortable and safe and allowed me to spread my wings and enjoy the ride as I knew they had my back (thank you Velvet, who helped me to secure my nitrox certification…you are a gifted teacher). While my experience w dive operations is limited, my boyfriend’s is not, and these guys have the right formula. Of course the diving is excellent (second biggest reef in the world?) and curated to ensure a safe and fulfilling experience its the team at Sandy Bay that was so special. We will be back to see our Sandy Bay family in short order. Highly recommend. – via google

My wife, kids, and I all visited and did a half dozen dives with Sandy Bay Divers. The staff were excellent. Since my younger two weren’t old enough to dive, the owner came along and guided them on multiple snorkel trips. During one of the dives, we went deeper than my one certified diver could go, and again the owner himself came along and buddied with her shallower while my wife and I dove deeper.

Their equipment was well maintained and relatively new. Facilities were good.

What an amazing team! Very welcoming and knowledgeable. I can’t thank everyone enough – Natalie, Christina, Matty, Val, Ali, Ricky, Orlin, and Elkin. I’m sorry if I missed any of the team. The warm welcome from email to check in was wonderful. The staff is beyond friendly and knowledgeable about the Roatan marine life. Ricky is one of the best spotters I’ve dived with. They all are passionate about diving and Roatan which you don’t always see at dive shops. I felt safe and well taken care of. I walked in only planning to do two dives and left completing eight memorable dives including my first night dive as well as some other “first” experiences. We visited a different dive site every dive. They keep the dives to small groups which exemplifies the experience. So many shops have 10 or more divers which in my opinion is not the same experience. Hats of to an incredible operation and team of FUN professionals! I would recommend Sun Divers and plan on being back in the near future. – via google

This was an awesome diving experience. The reefs and caverns were incredible and full of fish. The owners John and Kristi are amazing people and love to share I sights about the island among other things. The service was great. John came to our resort, Porta Azul and pick up a group of 4. John was on time and was very friendly. The dive instructor was also friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place to dive and will go again when we do another visit to the island.
