They gave us equipment that didn’t work. We ended up renting from the dive site that we where at. – via

I sent my 19-year-old daughter to look around for dive suits, fins, mask so she could get an idea of the products/styles that were on the market in her size. She is rather small so I wanted to make sure she physically saw and tried on suits before I purchased all her scuba gear.
On her first visit to a dive shop, The Great American Dive Company, she was basically told if she’s not going to buy today she needs to leave. Thanks to the arrogance of the store clerk this was her first impression of the diving community. I would say this shop is not the place for young women to visit alone. – via

I normally never don’t do reviews however, Not a good experience Took my son in to purchase fins as he is doing their dive course. The person in the shop acted arrogant! yes, actually rude too! and like we were bothering him. If you don’t like your job , do something else to be happy. – via

Not a great experience. We were scheduled to do our pool dives on a Tuesday and Thursday night. Both nights went over the allotted time and we even had to come back the following week for another entire evening (that also went way over the allotted time). There were too many people in the class given the size of the pool. Pool needed to be cleaned. Instruction was great, but we needed more than one instructor (there was one night with two and things went much faster that night). Overall, the experience was enough to encourage us cancel our open water dives in Illinois. – via

We did the Discover SCUBA program with several boys from our local Boy Scout Troop 533… What great staff!! Even the owner was there to greet the boys and say hello before the staff took them and some parents into a brief training session, and then into the water. They provided everything! Great place, great people! – via
