What to say about Alex and RAD kiteboarding? First Alex is super responsive as soon as you make a booking. He’s super engaged and all about his clients succeeding in the sport. Also I noticed his way of teaching is better and different than other instructors. He focuses on fundamentals which allows you to be independent of him more of the time vs being tandem to the coach. It takes a little longer but gives you greater control and great if you want to take it up for yourself. He’s super personable and funny. Watch out for him making you pick a war cry! If you’re in PR and San Juan look him up. You won’t be disappointed. Def a highlight of my time in PR. Ohhhhhyeeeeah Alex! – via google

I had the BEST DAY EVER with Alex of RAD Kiteboarding. He is not only an amazing kiteboarder and instructor, but a true waterman and a wealth of knowledge and experience in an array of water sports. He assisted us on one the best kitesurfing downwinders of my life, and made me feel safe and confident throughout the entire experience. Hands down the best kiteboarding school and instructor in PR. Alex is not only an incredible rider himself, but he is also an amazing instructor. He is knowledgeable, patient, and very perceptive to the individual needs of his students. I took 12 hours of lessons and was confidently up and riding by the end of the week. He emphasizes safety and gave me the foundation to continue kiting back home.

In addition to being a phenomenal instructor, Alex was great at communicating and went out of his way to make sure I had an amazing time on my vacation in Puerto Rico – this included teaching me at multiple beaches on the island so that I could explore and giving me great recommendations for restaurants and activities outside of kiting.

If you are looking for kiting lessons in PR, you should absolutely book with Alex and RAD. – via google

If you are looking to learn how to kite, Rad is the place! The guys there, especially Alex, are super knowledgeable. Not only did he get my fundamentals dialed in a couple of days, he also is an expert in safety. You don’t wanna be that dude getting dragged down the beach by a kite or get caught in the lines, Alex will show you how to prevent that a land kiteboard safely. The spot they have you learn is also world class, fyi. – via google

A kiteboarding lesson had been on my bucket list for years, and Alex delivered beyond my wildest expectations. I don’t have any pictures because from the moment we got there until the moment I left, it was all learning, action, and total immersion. Alex has a wealth of experience kiteboarding, and has the unique ability to break complex concepts like kite setup, controlling the kite, and setting up a kite-powered self-rescue into understandable processes. Best of all, even during technical explanations, Alex continually reminded me not to overthink things and to feel the wind and the flow of the sport. All in all, I learned more than I could have expected, got a window into the sport, and progressed rapidly. I’ll definitely be hitting Alex up for a second lesson next time I make it to PR! – via google

A kiteboarding lesson with Alex of RAD Kiteboarding is one of the best things I’ve done on my many trips to the Caribbean- period. He is super professional, a great teacher, and very accommodating. If you’re on the fence about kiteboarding, book a lesson (or two!) with Alex and you will for sure have one of the best experiences on your vacation.

A few things to note:
– if you’re interested in kiteboarding or surfing, kiteboarding is both easier to progress and less physically demanding.
– if you can manage it timing-wise, three 2-hour lessons is probably better for your progression than two 3-hour lessons.
– Alex can teach in either the Condado/Parque or Dorado regions- Dorado would be better to learn at for sure (easier, safer, quicker) so try to go there if possible; otherwise, I would try to book lessons from 10-12 or 10-1 before the beach gets super crowded. – via google
