Would not recommend. Had a scheduled appointment and the guys just kept me waiting. Had no instructor even with my paid reservation and the owner didn’t even apologize. Eventually someone gave me a lesson but he clearly wished he could be doing something else with his time. Very unprofessional, don’t waste your money. – via

When we arrived at the beach, we were very surprised by how big the waves were and the number of people surfing in the small area for beginners. Just in the short amount of time we were assessing the situation, we witnessed several people crashing into people. Based on this, we decided it wasn’t a safe place to learn to surf. They told us it will be very crowded at least until Jan 10 so I highly recommend checking out the scene before paying for lessons ahead of time. – via

I live in todos santos and surf everyday in cerritos. Honestly the 3 guys and the one women that I see hanging out there are some rudest and most disrespectful surfers I have ever seen. They act like they own the beach. They work together to try and take every wave and will be physical and threatening if they think they can bully you. I’ve heard them openly thrash talking other lone surfers in the line up when there is usually 3 of them. There is many other kinder people to take surf lessons from in cerritos. Please don’t give them the time of day. – via

They’re really friendly and inclusive here, and the beach has a nice sheltered area where noobs like me can start to figure it out. Prices are reasonable, and the instructors are patient and clear. They got me up on my feet and I was able to keep getting up on my feet every day. You get access to an umbrella to sit under with a lesson or a rental. We rented from them almost every day we were there. Oh, and there’s 2 for 1 beers on the first round at the associated restaurant beach bar when you’re renting/taking lessons from them. – via
