Our experience with Key Dives was wonderful and the staff truly exceptional across the board. From our first phone call, they always found ways to provide exactly what we were looking for, even when we didn’t even know.
They helped us figure out that our son needed to start completely over with his Open Water Certification, made it super easy, and he loved Nick (as did everyone). My wife and I needed a refresher and they set that up with Christy, who was also terrific. They set us up so that our dives aligned with our son’s check-out dives. Once he had completed his requirements, they made sure to give us the option to switch groups so that we could dive with him. These are really top-notch professionals.
Over the 3 days, we might have got to know most of the dive instructors and the owner, all of whom were truly fun, competent, communicative and personable people that care about deeply about the reef. Their commitment to safety and to ongoing diver education was clear. They made sure to keep the groups with each divemaster small which was greatly appreciated.
Of our 4 dives, by far our favorite was Alligator Reef.
The prices were reasonable and clearly stated on the website.
I cannot recommend this shop and the people more highly. We are already planning our next trip… – via

I would highly recommend staying away from this company. Communication of pricing and deposits was seemingly intensionally unclear, and we were bait and switched. Pricing ended up 3x of anywhere else in the keys after the fact.
When we called to see what the reprice of renting a wetsuit was, they informed us that it was $15 (the average price of a rental). However, once we showed up, they suited us in full wet suits and charged us $25 a piece—along with a deposit.
We were informed we could drop off the suits after hours at the risk of our deposit and card on file if the suits did not get back to them. We retuned the suits, and confirmed Key Dives had received the suits the next day. However, they refused to refund our deposit as they claimed small print in the agreement forfeited our deposit if we chose to return the suits after hours. Which was never communicated to us in any way and seemingly violated our verbal agreement.
In the end, we spent $105 on a 2 hour rental that would have cost $45 anywhere else in the keys. – via

My boyfriend and I got open water certified with Key Dives and they were awesome from start to finish! We called many places in the area and didn’t have much luck finding friendly and helpful folks, so we decided to go with Key Dives solely because they were super knowledgeable and nice on the phone. We are so glad we chose them because they made sure our whole experience was amazing, safety is always put first, and having fun is a close second. Nick was our main instructor and he had us laughing the whole time and was very knowledgeable and experienced. We also dove with Kristi and Micheal Ryan who were very helpful, kind, and awesome to be around. The boat captain always made sure we were taken care of and safe. We bought a couple pieces of gear and they were honest and didn’t try to oversell us on what we realistically needed. We loved diving with Key Dives so much that we ended up staying an extra day to do another dive which was so much fun and we saw turtles, nurse sharks, and tons of other cool aquatic life. Another thing to note about them is they actually care about marine conservation and helping local conservation efforts to keep the coral healthy which made us very happy to see. Thank you Key Dives, we will be back! -Brittany and James – via

We had a truly great time at Key Dives.
We only got certified last year we only have few dives under our belt.
Michael was an impressive guide and, notwithstanding the not great weather, we had 2 lovely dives and we felt very safe at all times.
We have dived in several Caribbean Islands and the Red Sea before but we were nonetheless deeply impressed by the beauty of the coral reef in the Keys also in terms of number and variety of coral and fishes.
The feeling is very relaxed during the whole trip and the ratio of divers per boat is kept low to keep the experience personable and enjoyable.
We were also very impressed by the work and effort that Key Dives put in the coral reef restoration project.

We were talking about this place the other day and I forgot to leave a review from a dive we did. Every reef we went to was dead. The dive boat literally was anchored in the coral. We had to beg to go to alligator reef . We were told this place was full service but I changed every tank I used and carried my own gear. We were part of a group of 12 and every one was let down. I wouldn’t bother. – via Google

Fantastic dive shop, small and it’s not a Disney feel experience as some others.
Their website is what caught my attention as I was looking for a shop to finish my open water cert. They explain the different certifications and steps so well and what you pay for.
They were fast to respond to emails and got me in a small group at exactly the days i was asking for.
Alyssa was a fantastic instructor. She was explaining everything so well and gave everybody enough time to comprehend.
Great experience for 3 days. – via Google

Chick at the counter could hardly be bothered to stop eating in order to wait on customer. Even after being prompted by coworker was more than dismissive. Get some customer service training. – via Google

Best Dive Shop in the Keys — trust me I tried a few !
I got my open water certification here with Alyssa PANZER, GREAT instructor.
And as the other people are pointing out, the service on the regular boat trips is also amazing and the staff are all super nice and qualified.
Diving site quality here is great, tons of corals and marine life, highly recommended.
Some of the other shops in Key Largo are good as well of course, but Key Dives is really outstanding. – via Google
