I highly recommend this dive operation! They were so professional and helpful! It started with working with Jeff at Honolulu Dive over the phone to arrange for a dive during my visit to the island. He was so helpful and wanted to make sure I got the best experience. The actual dive day was amazing as well. There were plenty of crew to give us small dive groups and our dive guides were fun and excited to dive with us. My best friend is a non-certified diver and did two DSD dives. Her guide was Jaime, who was fantastic! Jaime was so patient and really helped my friend feel comfortable. My guide was Aaron and he was awesome too! I had so much fun, especially in the swim-throughs and seeing many sea turtles! I can’t say enough about the dive experience and the crew! – via google

Dive instructors were friendly and good teachers. There are numerous locations and dive shops that are part of this operation and it’s not always made clear which location staff are referring to. After arriving we learnt that due to issues with permits we’d be meeting at a harbor 1:20 minutes away from the booked location. – via google

These guys are 10/10 amazing. Absolutely made it fun to dive and get gear. So chill and friendly, creating such a comfortable atmosphere! First time ever to Oahu, ever diving here in Hawaii, these guys made me feel at ease and I had the best time. We went to the china walls and it was insane. They provided some great recs for dive spots and we’ll have to check them out for the rest of our trip. Amazing people working there and could not recommend more 🙂 – via google

Hunter continues to prove himself as a premier dive guide. Always teaching while also extremely perceptive and accommodating to varying degrees of the diving group individual skills. Many dive operations treat the divers like cattle… hurry up, get in the water, get out…gotta pick up another group. Did the wreck and reef dive this morning with Ana and Lina the dive instructor and dive master candidate and had an awesome time! 100 foot visibility down to the F4U Corsair on the bottom of the ocean. Ana took some incredible photos and sent them to us after! I had not done many wreck dives before but Ana and Lina were there to make sure everything was safe and fun. Next we did a drift dive at the Spitting Cave near China wall during which we saw several turtles, two reef sharks, a moray eel and a lot of other sea life. Highly recommended, had a blast! – via google

I’m fairly certain no one on staff today at Island Divers wanted to be there! It was actually the worst service I have ever experienced in my 20 years of diving!

The website has good reviews so maybe this was a fluke day. The most frustrating thing was having to surface dive 1 with 1300 psi after 37min. And dive 2 we both ended with 2000psi after 30min!! How is that even a two tank dive??

Even though there were 5 paying customers and 8 staff – they wanted everyone to surface as soon as the first person hit 1000psi. Maybe this is standard in the US? I’m used to diving in the Caribbean where groups with such huge differences in skill level get split up between dive masters. If they were short on staff, I’d understand but today the crew was rushed and feeling done. (This is not an assumption, it’s based on comments overheard between dives)

On a positive note, the gear was in good condition. They did the obligatory safety briefings. The boat was spacious and had shade. And they emailed pics after the trip. Nice touch.

I’m glad I brought water and snacks because their water cooler was out and there was no snack or food offered up. (To be fair food was not advertised on their website I’m just accustomed to Caribbean service). I wish I would have had my booties with me. They have wetsuits for rent but no booties!

I hope future patrons have a better experience than we did today. At least maybe use this review to ask more questions before booking!! I was just so excited to get underwater in a new location I didn’t ask some of the things I should have to gauge this business more.

Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because we all came back alive! So that’s a win! . – via Google
