The dive master Turk was so skilled and confident that we felt totally comfortable in the water with him. It was the best experience with a dive master we’ve ever had, and that is in comparison to many dives/places in the world. Turk’s knowledge of scuba and the area and its dive sites were phenomenal. The beach diving and the Liberty wreck were really cool dive sites as well. The ocean in that area is full of life, and colorful life at that. I cannot recommend prana dive and Turk enough. if you’re looking to scuba dive in Bali go to Amed and dive with Turk. – via

We chose to dive with Prana (a couple of weeks ago) because it was clear that the owner/instructor is very safety conscious. Both our dives with Turk were a lot of fun and he made sure we got the dives that we wanted to do. All equipment was in a very good condition and it’s great that dive computers are included in the price. I have been diving for years with about 150 dives logged and this is one of the best/safest dive centres I have been diving with. Couldn’t recommend more. – via

I’ve dived and trained all over the world and I can say that the new management of Prana Dive (and the associated hotel/cottages on the same site) are top notch. Great, thoughtful service.
Unlike many ”money and cert mill” shops that can be found in SE Asia, Prana Dive, as a RAID shop, is very serious and professional given their tec diving competencies, more diligent in training compared to other agencies I’ve learned from.
This past February, prior to finding Prana Dive, I had already spent a week in Amed diving with another shop. However, I felt I needed additional challenges and learning that the previous shop couldn’t offer, and was so happy to have found Prana Dive.
I did my RAID Deep40 class with the dive manager Turk and it was the most educational and eye-opening class, and inspired my journey to becoming a tec diver.
It was extremely validating to me to have an instructor of Turk’s caliber give the seal of approval on my dive skills.
Turk was patient, encouraging and a fantastic instructor who took the time to really make sure I understood all the concepts and skills. The way he taught really boosted my confidence and made tec diving accessible and approachable in what can seem at first like an intimidating field. He had a wealth of not only dive skills, but diverse personal experience and lessons learned from his career that he was happy to impart. He is also extremely friendly and funny – very down to earth and humble, and it helped that we also could connect on our shared California diving background.
I loved the course so much that I am going back to Amed in a few weeks to take my Sidemount and Deco 50 course with Turk. Tec diving, here I come! – via

So happy we found this place! Me and my mum came to Amed for my mum to do her Open Water Course there. After looking around and talking to different companies we got to the beautiful lodge that is behind the dive site. While looking at the beautiful rooms we were told they offer diving courses too. Then Turk, the dive teacher came and talked to my mum, explaining everything so fun and professional, that we decided to stay there.
Lovely stay, lovely staff, delicious breakfast and my mum had the perfect course! She was lucky to have the course 1 on 1, so it was pretty much a personallized course just for her! Really focussed on safety, making sure she was ready to go diving in any other place in the world. After the course, me, my boyfriend and my mum went on a fun dive with Turk and after for drinks in a local bar, and we just had the best time! Just hanging out with our new friend while being taking care of in the ocean 🙂 We had the best time in Amed, thank you Turk and the whole dive and lodge team! – via

These guys are serious about diving. Frank and his team will make sure you have good dives at either Tulamben or the Amed Beach. We stayed at the small hotel as well and found the service and cleanliness of room to be good, simple, but solid. You can cross the street and go to the black sand beach for drinks—very cool place. We arrived in Amed for the reason of diving. There are tons of diving centres in that little traditional balinese town but the second we talked with Turk (the diving instructor) we knew where we want to go. Of all the People we talked to, he was the one we knew we can trust and have a great time with. He has an answer for all your questions and is always willing to help in every way.
My Partner and me had just finished our open water certificate – so having an instructor like Turk who just took us two as a small group was really helpful to feel safe.
It was just because of him why we came back to Amed. He made us fall in love with this lovely town and diving with him.
So Thank you again for this amazing time! It was a real pleasure spending time with you. We will be back as soon as we can!

I came here for a fun dive to see the USS Liberty. Everything was swell except for the fact that I was in a group with 3 other fun divers and an instructor, and they all spoke Spanish. (They all spoke English too, but they chose to speak Spanish. I don’t speak Spanish.) The instructor did brief the dive in English as well, but other than that, I was completely ignored above the surface while the 4 of them had themselves wonderful little chats. Annoying. I wouldn’t go back, but the staff is well-trained and the facility is nice. – via
