Dream- yesterday I became PADI certified as an open water diver. 3 days in a row of classes, 4 open water dives.
This was my 3rd attempt. I have MS and no one wanted to take time and work with me. First with scuba quest here in the Cape. The men behind the counter couldn’t have been more unfriendly if they tried. One took me aside and said I was “too fat” and “too sick”.
Then I went to Pete’s in Ft myers. He was kinder and tried, but in a class of over 20 people he couldn’t attend to my needs and I didn’t make it.
Here, a couple years later, I had been talking to someone who recommended Diver’s Paradise in Key Biscayne. 3 hours from my house. The owner there worked with me in ALL ways possible. And booked me a private instructor.
This past weekend was my chance. MS has taken a lot from me, I can’t ride motorcycles anymore, or gallop horses etc. My work life etc
So i drove over there and stayed in a cheap little hotel and ate snacks Gwendelyn Yukiko Garrison made for me because we area little short on money at this time. Drank plenty of Gatorade, and guess what – PAdi certified. – via
We recently had the opportunity to use Divers Paradise for both rental gear and the dive boat. They could not have been any more accommodating. John was friendly and professional, even last minute rentals went off without a hitch. From all the guys that did the memorial dive on Friday 2/9/2024 THANK YOU!! See you next year – via
iv all over the world and this spot is sadly the worst only due to the kite school they have ruined the beauty of being free to kite and learn here, they charge you a day pass $40 per person with your own gear, after i paid set up and hit the water excited to try my new kite ended up down wind slightly as the wind was blowing across shore which i wasn’t used too not even 20 mins in just trying to get the feel of everything this guy “running the beach” yells at me saying i’m only at level 2 and kicks me off the beach… don’t recommend this beach at all. too many rules and too many entitled people. We kite to have fun and progress all levels should be welcome… you don’t own the beach???? – via
