The Reef Encounter team is exceptional! We did a 2 day/1 night liveaboard trip and had the absolute best time. We rarely leave reviews, but the dive team was so friendly, fun, and wonderful (shoutout to Lola who was an incredibly patient and fun dive instructor! T’es très cool.). All the food was delicious, rooms/facilities were clean. The underwater photographer was amazing. Not a single complaint 🙂

Clint and his team will help you to find the best trip for you. You really can feel that Clint is a passionate diver and underwater photographer, and really wants you to have a great experience at the Great Barrier Reef!
I had booked 3 different journeys and all were just amazing!
First I had a wonderful trip 3 days, 2 nights on Reef Encounter and completed my SSI Open Water Diver Course. After that I booked an amazing railway-skyrail trip to the rainforest village of Kuranda. I completed my holiday with a second liveaboard Scuba Dive on Reef Encounter.
On both reef trips, I got the free professional underwater camera which is just amazing. The photos are just so much better then the pictures you could take with a GoPro. Clint even gave me many helpful hints, how to get the perfect shot under water. Just look at the photos attached, they turned out amazing, even I nearly have no photography experience!
I would highly recommend you to contact Clint in person or on his website and check, which trip fits you the best!
I’ll surely come back here if I’m back in Cairs.

Did my Open Water, Advanced Adventurer and Advanced in 2006, They kept zero records of me, so much so that when i lost my license and needed to replace it nobody could help and I now basically have no proof whatsoever that i did my training there. Tried e-mailing them tons of times over the years hoping someone could finally help. All was in vain – via

Did the intro dive, had a great time! The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly, and made the day fun. The spot they visit is gorgeous, theres some amazing snorkeling and diving out there. Excellent option for snow an intro dive in Cairns. Made some friends too!
The price is a little steep for a 15 minute dive, plus you need to pay extra for the levy, photos or a second dive. Personalized photos of the dive offered for purchased unfortunately are generic, and they hook you to buy them with their deceptive pricing options. – via

We did the Introductory Scuba Diving day trip. We had a beautiful day out on the reef. It was professional, the materials provided and lunch were good. We even saw a turtle and clown fish!
It did, however, feel like they were trying to squeeze as much extra money out of us as they could. The introductory scuba diving class was mainly us posing underwater in front of a camera (which cost $50 extra to get), and it didn’t last very long. One of the girls in my group struggled to get one of the divers’ instructions, after 5 to 10 minutes she asked to try again but he said that as lunch was soon they were running out of time and would go without her. She didn’t get her money back and it didn’t feel quite justified as he wasn’t very patient with her and it seems that if she wasnt the last group she would’ve had more time to try.
The atmosphere between the staff is quite tense and confrontational, especially seeing the way Joey speaks to her staff. It doesn’t give the boat the best atmosphere.
All in all the tour was beautiful and we really enjoyed it, but there are some things that could’ve been worked on to make it even better! Thanks. – via

Awesome experience, highly recommended. The tour was perfect, our instructor was so gentle, the coral in the spot that they choose was alive and colourful (Photos taken with a phone into a cheap waterproof bag). Maybe the only think that they can improve is the food, everything else was perfect. – via

An incredible experience. Joey, Lee, Rob, Tony and the rest of the crew were beyond competent. They delivered an excellent day on the reef, sprinkled with humor and kindness.
