Absolutely incredible experience☆☆ I was nervous as I’m scared of heights but honestly I needn’t have been as it was definitely the best time I’ve ever had, it was like floating on a magic carpet!! Very calming and the views were spectacular!!! We had Michael as our amazing pilot and he made us all feel at ease and gave us so much knowledge and background to all the scenery we passed over. Loved how we were all able to be involved with set up and pack up. 100% a must do and tick off my bucket list. Thank you to Michael and Faye for a amazing unforgettable day!! – via

My family and I got up at 2:30 am to make the 5:00am lift off, so it was an early start, but by the time we arrived at the farm where the balloon equipment is stored, we were all incredibly excited to see the sunrise from the air in a basket under a huge colourful balloon. Our pilot was a very experienced aviator, being a NZ champion in ballooning and gliding, and he and the ground crew involved us in the set-up process, inflating the balloon, doing the safety checks etc. and this hands-on, interactive experience was great.

Floating high above the Earth over the patchwork of farmland, houses, forests and with the mountains in the distance as the summer sun rose over the Canterbury plains was an experience we’ll never forget.

Thanks Ballooning Canterbury for a wonderful adventure.

Amazing experience highly recommend this , for yourself, a birthday or Xmas gift or ticking off your bucket list.
Well worth the money, fantastic views – you won’t be disappointed!! Very knowledgeable commentary about the Canterbury plains.
When I googled looking for a company these guys didn’t come to the top of list with google – however they did have a contact number we gave them a call first they answered all the questions and we booked the next day. Fantastic customer service – my advice to you don’t hesitate- take the plunge! Just do it !! – via

Absolutely amazing experience.

Even thought our luck wasn’t all that good and the weather as pretty bad. We stillt enjoyed the whole experience and were fascinated by what we got to see. It’s also very nice of them to compensate us with some extra fly time for the disappointing weather condition.

Couple things to not for those who r interested:

1, You do need to wake up very early, the meet up time for us was 5:15 in the morning, and we had to wake up before 4 am and drive one hour from Christchurch.

2, Get ready to do some work, every body chipped in during the set up and clean up before and after the fly, it’s a group job, so be ready to get your hands dirty. But there will be food and champagne in the end to award the hard work. – via
