I dived with Domka at Lake Atitlan and had an amazing time. It was really easy to organise and the day felt very laid-back but also very safe as well. I was nervous about my buoyancy control at altitude and about the low visibility but Domka was really reassuring and I had a wonderful couple of dives.
We saw some very dramatic rocks and felt some hot spots which were very cool! – via

Well run operation. Visibility is variable at the lake so be warned this is not the same as your Caribbean reef diving!
There aren’t many places in the world where you can dive in a relatively warm lake at altitude, especially in such stunning surroundings.
Dive centre is very close to the boat jetty and a very short trip out to sites. Recommended for the sheer uniqueness of it! – via

I took the the open water course here at the Iguana Perdida with Isaac. I feel confident in my abilities as a diver after taking this course and completing all the training exercises. I saw some fresh water crab, some fish, an ancient underwater tree and connected to the energy of the lake. Definitely recommend. – via

Horrible communication. I’ve stayed for an additional 3 days at the lake for this, trying to contact them but could not get a response. Managed to reach them via hostel nearby, when they told me they are unavailable, making lame excuses, despite their website indicating otherwise. The only way to contact them directly is by email. – via

Im a full time instructor currently working in México and I went to spend a few days in Guatemala, diving on the lake atitlan was on my bucket list for a while. Before i even booked anything I talked to them via email to get some information and they were fast to answer and helpfull. Its not really easy to reach the dive center but they guide you on what boats to take and how to get there. I arrived in the morning and shorty after the standard paperwork me and other divers got gear up and briefed. The equipament is good and in good condition. Shorty after we went to the boat, a small one but more than enough to fit the small group. Buoyancy check before we start the dive and then we go down. Rock formations and alot of geológical interesting things to see and also some marine life like algaes, fish, crabs. The Visibility was good for a lake (around 5m) and the water was around 20°C which is quite warm and with the 2 double 7mm suit you wont feel cold at all.
Final note, its a great place to dive, with a great view, dont expect it to be like caribbean, if you are looking for crystal clear, warm water full of beautifull corals and tropical fish its not the place for you.
Thanks for the dives

These people have the worst customer service ever. I’ve sent 8 emails, endless calls and texts and I can’t get a single person to carry on a conversation about how to actually dive with this company. After speaking with a bunch of locals, I’ve realized this is normal for them. Don’t waste your time. There are other dive shops on the lake who actually want your business and will return phones calls. – via

Just zero communication. To bad they are the only one in Atitlan… – via Google

Highly recommend Ati Divers for an unforgettable experience high altitude diving in beautiful Lake Atilan. Curtis was a great dive instructor who took the time to explain the differences with diving at altitudes and showed us two unique spots in the lake. From exploring underwater caves to underwater volcanos and hot spots this is a must see if you are spending time at the lake! Also, this is a great place to get your altitude diver certification. – via Google

Did two dives as well as my Altitude certification with ATI divers. With being a little inexperienced I had a little trouble when we first got into the water but I was given tons of patience and worked through all the problems. Dives were fun but with most fresh water, not much to see but still really fun dives if you enjoy diving. – via Google

I was in contact with them for a few days and they told me they had a spot for me on the Friday. I asked multiple times for a confirmation but I never heard back from them. I’m really disappointed because it was one of the main things I was planning on doing in Lake Atitlan. Communication is really bad :(. – via Google

(Translated by Google) The dive center is good. But the dives in the lake are not so amazing as on their website. Unfortunately visibility and heat are not present…just like the sorts of “ruins” as can be seen on their site.
I don’t really recommend the altitude specialty. Their instructor will just quickly read the questions to you and answer them by himself asking if you have any questions.. not a great way to teach in my opinion..
The diving center could have potential, but this one is unfortunately not exploited
