This place was so relaxing I felt like I was sedated! The wind blowing through the trees, monkeys howling in the distance, a menagerie of birds singing and an occasional distant rumble of a crashing wave etc. We booked here for a few nights because our fancy house in a gated neighborhood in SJDS be was not available; we immediately regretted the move to the fancy house. The breakfast was amazing and the community of Maderas was so friendly and affordable. – via

Buena Vista is by far the best hotel I’ve been at in Nicaragua. The location is perfect, you can easîy walk to the beach and get an amazing sea view! The staff are super nice and are always available to help you for whatever you may need. Finally, the homemade breakfast is absolutely delicious and sharing it with the other guests makes it easy to meet amazing people! – via

Loved this hotel so much. The place is super relaxing and close to the beach (5ish min walk). Surf lessons with Felipe are great (he is a surf championship in Central America!), Adaly makes yummy breakfasts and she also gives outstanding massages! Heaven on earth! The place and the staff are SO SPECIAL. – via

My favourite stay in Nicaragua by far! Buena Vista has the ultimate home-y vibe which is perfect for a surf holiday. Even if you don’t surf, the relaxed atmosphere, stunning views and incredibly lovely staff make this place really special for all. Everything from the rooms to the common area are comfortable and super clean! Felipe, the manager, is a legend and always willing to help. The breakfast is the best in Nica, hands down! Healthy, fresh and shared amongst friends each morning. This place is perfect if you’re looking for a eco-minded, peaceful home base while exploring/surfing all day. – via
