We booked on to a one day white water rafting experience. We had a bit of a nightmare as our rental car blew a tyre about 10 min away from the meeting point. The guide did come and pick us up although we were a bit concerned about leaving the car and he was very insistent that we go. I am glad we did though in the end as we had been looking forward to this all holiday. I saw that some groups were having this tour run from the coast, be aware that it’s a 3 hour drive one way so it would be a seriously long day! We stayed over in nearby Pluzine which worked well and is a nice little village.
The rafting itself was alot of fun. We capsized quite early on so it might have been good to have had a bit more of a safety briefing to tell us what to do but we figured it out pretty easily and noone was hurt. The guide was excellent at steering and that felt pretty safe and was alot of fun. At the end the guide told us it was customary to tip him so we did. I was a bit annoyed because he then told us that we had to pay extra for the photos and video footage even though we had been told and it said on the website that this was included. He wouldn’t budge so I paid an extra 25 euros for the sim card only to find out when I got back that it was empty. I got in touch with tara outdoors who said that they would email it to me and I did get it a few days later which was good as it made a nice memory.
All in all the experience was great and Nikola was super helpful. The guides on the ground aren’t quite so amiable but the rafting itself was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it. – via
