John, the point of contact at Ghana Tours, did an amazing job helping us arrange a customized day tour based on our specific requests of learning about cocoa farming in Ghana, with only one day notice from us. Maxwell was the tour guide/ driver for our trip. The vehicle is a comfy and spacious SUV, which definitely helped given the bumpy road conditions. We visited the botanical garden and Tetteh Quarshie cocoa farm, where we got a chance to pluck cocoa pods and saw the cocoa tree that Tetteh Quarshie planted. While these places are intended for tourists to learn more about cocoa farming, we are lucky to have Maxwell, a cocoa farmer himself, to share precious inside knowledge of cocoa farming with us. Talking to Maxwell is hands down the best part of the trip. Credit to John for making it happen! – via
