LEK is the best! My friends and I came to Cabarete for the kiteboarding (never been to the DR before) – our AirBnb recommended this school in their manual, so we decided to give it a go.
The instructors and front desk ladies made our entire trip 10x more fun and comfortable. They are super accommodating and fun! Thanks so much guys. Hope to see you this summer. – via google

I had an excellent time at LEK kite school, and enjoyed very much this memorable experience.

The whole team is incredibly nice, warm and welcoming. It was beneficial to learn in this relaxed snd truly professional environment. I felt right at home with friends who truly treat you like family.

A true beginner, I was able to learn, progress and enjoy my lessons thanks to the experienced, patient, personal instruction and coaching I received from Santo. Despite my limited level I always I felt safe and comfortable.

it was like in a dream, and by far exceeded all my expectations. 5 stars in every aspect. Thank you all so much. Highly recommend. – via google

LEK School rocks! They got me riding 2 days in a row, which I didn’t expect, and the feeling is almost indescribable. Beautiful beach, consistent tradewinds, friendly knowledgeable team, flexible lesson / rental options, and all the latest equipment w.r.t. safety and performance. Plus Cabarete and the DR are awesomely fun. I took the bus over from Santo Domingo but next time I may just fly into Puerto Plata. – via google

For those interested in lessons they have very experienced instructors for all skill levels and the schools kites and equipment are new and well maintained.
LEK also has the best location on the beach.

We had the good fortune to spend the Summer in Cabarete and decided to make LEK our home base for kiting while we were there. Being there for so long, we were really able to get to know the staff and instructors and how the team operates. These guys are the BEST! Cabarete can be a little intimidating at times but Alex took my wife from complete beginner to IKO certified independent in no time. All of the instructors were patient, friendly, knowledgable and once the lessons were over, continued to watch over us and give us constant tips on how to improve. We witnessed how they were careful to match the right instructor with each student depending on the situation. I see in the other reviews the mention of feeling like “family” and that was definitely the case for us. Alex, Raul and Youri were amazing instructors, Amoure handled ALL of our equipment needs like a pro and Maxine and the girls in the office were super helpful and friendly. I could go on but when in Cabarete and looking for the best place to call “home” during your stay, LEK is the place to go. Thanks guys, see you next Summer! – via google

As a family of 6, I can’t say I was expecting ALL of us to love kiting as much as we do. We attribute this to the incredible experience and instruction we received from LEK! Learning to kite requires an ability to trust the process, meaning you must be able to trust your instructors and staff. LEK goes above and beyond in providing people and a process that you can trust. So much so, they have become dear friends and community. Go with LEK. They won’t disappoint! – via google

I can’t recommend this kiteboarding highly enough. I’ve been kiting from here regularly for over ten years. The set up is amazing for experienced kiters and for people learning; nicest place on the beach in Cabarete, super helpful team, cold beers and the fanciest air compressor I’ve ever seen. If you’re looking to learn, I’m not sure there’s a better school anywhere in the world. Laurel’s team of instructors are so patient, IKO certified, radio helmets, the works. Our good friend traveled with us and just took lessons and learned was riding in a few lessons. – via google

My LEK experience was amazing from start to finish! But it was too short, so I would recommend visiting LEK as soon as you get to Cabarete to get the most of your kite trip! The entire LEK team staff is extremely friendly and caring. The office staff Maxine, Aleks and Laurel took care of me on my first visit to get information, they made me feel welcome and explained the steps of how lessons work. I’m at a beginner level and I recommend LEK to everyone who wants to start or keep progressing before being autonomous: the people, the vibe, the location, it makes everything easy and fun!
My instructor Leo was so kind and friendly! He made sure I was safe and helped me feel confident. He confirmed my skills and level, and then we picked up from there to make sure I progress. And wow, in only two days I feel like I learned so much! Leo is a very great teacher, explaining, demonstrating, encouraging. And he was great at pushing me to trust myself and relax in the water. The waves and large number of riders in Cabarete can be intimidating, but I felt at ease thanks to him. His tips and guidance were always on point and helped me so much!
Thank you to the whole team at LEK. Can’t wait to come back soon to hopefully ride solo in beautiful Cabarete! – via google

LEK is a professional and friendly kiteschool. From my point of view the school is the best in the world. I took lessons before but was never able to make so much progression as I did with Alex from Lek. He gave clear instructions, had a lot of patience and made me really into kitesurfing. Alex makes things visual, which really helps. Would definitely recommend this place to learn kitesurfing. The school itself has a really nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff is there to make sure you are having a nice time. Thanks again, Alex, Laurel & Pete. Cheers, Maurice – via google
