Excursion un peu chère pour une journée mitigée (snorkeling by Northern exposure).
Les points positifs sont que la Whiteheaven beach est très belle et les 2 spots pour le snorkeling nous ont permis d’avoir une autre vue des coraux que sur la grande barrière de corail.
Le gros point négatif est que nous sommes montés à Inlet Hill (lookout pour les bancs de sable de Whitsunday) en pleine marée haute, donc pas de banc de sable. Le parcours à pied a du être fait très rapidement, exigé par la guide alors qu’il pleuvait lors de nos 15min en haut. La météo était très changeante, il aurait fallu attendre 15-20min pour l’avoir avec le soleil. Nous n’avons pas mangé sur la plage prévue donc impossible d’y retourner si toutefois on avait souhaité. C’est très dommage étant donné que la marée descendait et que le soleil avait réapparu. La publicité nous disait pourtant changer le parcours selon les conditions de marée et météo.
De plus payer un lunch pack 20$, on s’attend à mieux… – via

I got to the scenic flight yesterday and it was amazing !
There was a courtesy transfer from my accommodation to the airport and the pilots and the crew made sure that every aspect of the day was explained thoroughly. The flight itself was absolute amazing , don’t be put off if it looks a little cloudy as they fly lower than the clouds , the views are spectacular and it was a once in a life time experience I will never forget ???? – via

I spent an amazing morning on the 1-hour scenic flight with Ocean Rafting. I made my own way to the Whitsunday Airport and arrived in plenty of time to check-in and grab a coffee at the café (this would need to be done at least 35-40 minutes prior to the actual flight, as you cannot take hot drinks or food on the plane with you). When the shuttles arrived with the rest of the guests, the staff were extremely organized, and everything happened quite quickly! We watched a 2-minute safety video, did a quick roll-call and weigh-in and we were already allocated in our groups for our flight. We were then on our way with a few minutes to take a photo in front of the plane before we took off.

Once in the air, every passenger had their own window seat with stunning views! We flew over the islands, and dipped down to see Whitehaven beach to start. It was absolutely beautiful from above. After viewing the Whitsundays, we had a short 12-minute flight to the outer Great Barrier Reef. Looking over the reef was breathtaking. We first saw the famous Heart Reef, and then spent more time checking out the surrounding area. Throughout the flight, our pilot also provided commentary, although it was a bit hard to hear at times. However, he did make us feel safe, and was extremely informative.

After plenty of time viewing the Great Barrier Reef, we made our way back to the airport, once again with the opportunity to see the island and boats from above. We landed back at the Whitsunday Airport exactly 1 hour from take-off. The timing was spot-on. One tip I would give is if you are prone to motion sickness, is to take a tablet 30 minutes prior to flying, as you’re in a small plane that does a few turns and dips. Overall, I would highly recommend doing the scenic flight with Ocean Rafting. It is such a memorable experience and a must-do while you’re visiting the Whitsundays!! – via

The scenic flight was absolutely amazing, just as gorgeous as all the photos you see online! My pilot was so nice, he let me sit in the copilot seat and even took a video of the heart reef from his side on my phone so I had double the videos! I wish I remembered his name, he had white hair and a French accent, because he truly made my day. I would recommend the scenic flight to everyone visiting Airlie beach, it truly is a must do! – via

My Husband and I would love to send a huge shoutout to the Ocean Rafting team especially our skipper and deckhand Kate and Maisie!
We were in Airlie for our honeymoon and had the best day on Monday (18/03) with the girls doing the northern exposure! The whole process from start to finish was top notch and so easy!
Maisie made us feel so welcomed and special and called us her VIP’S for the day!
Both Maisie and Kate were a wealth of knowledge and made the whole experience amazing, informative and fun!
We were lucky to get both snorkels in and had the best time on Whitehaven!
Both girls got everyone hyped and excited for the day with the cool tunes and the awesome ride out to the reef!
10 out of 10!
We both would recommend Ocean Rafting to everyone!
