This was my first dive resort experience, and I’m hooked. Anilao is the perfect dive location for macro and octopus lovers. I even saw blue ring and mimic octopus and photographed dozens of unique nudis and macro life. The villa is lovely. All rooms built up a hill have ocean view. There is a dedicated camera room for divers and great food daily. Staff is wonderful and don’t miss the fantastic massage in the spa on top of the hill, worth the climb up the stairs every day! – via google

Awesome experience! We completed our Open Water Certification here so we did our first dives ever here. The other guests we talked to were often repeat customers with thousands of dives under their belts. After diving at a couple of other places in the Philippines, we’re starting to see why! The reefs are amazing, with just so much life. Buceo itself is super well run, very organized, with the owner always around and ensures guests have what they need. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Dive crew is knowledgeable. Food is amazing, some of the best we’ve had in the Philippines. What else can one ask for?! Oh yes, magnets. Please make Buceo magnets so we have something to remember the trip by! – via google

5.0/ 5

My wife and I spent 6 days and 5 nights at Buceo Anilao and we had a great time. The diving was as good as we expected but Buceo Anilao was a top notch dive resort. Leading up to our trip, Dave Santos was very communicative and assisted us in getting everything set up for the trip. While we were there, the staff were all friendly and very helpful. The resort staff did everything for us from loading our luggage to getting our dive gear set up. All we had to do is check our nitrox tanks before every dive and show up on the boats. The dive crew even set up our dive gear and switched tanks for us after every dive.

The resort itself was really comfortable with lots of spots to relax after diving and the bar was a great place to hang out with other divers and the dive masters and talk about the dives of the day. The food was great for a dive resort and we appreciated that we could have several different Filipino dishes everyday. There was also a surprising variety in alcohol for those who partake and I had a chance to try a lot of local beers and rums and found my new favorite rum Don Papa (Thanks Dave!).

I can’t speak to the other dive guides but our dive guide for the week Joemar was a major highlight of the trip. While we were able to locate a few things on our own, Joemar was incredible at finding things that were no bigger than a grain of sand. He would point at something and the first few times I wondered why he was showing us sand and then realized it was a nudibranch. Obviously, Anilao is teeming with life but Joemar was a huge reason why we saw several things on pretty much every dive.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with Buceo Anilao and highly recommend it to any diver who wants to dive in Anilao. Hopefully we’ll be back soon! – via google

5.0/ 5

The diving operation is totally excellent, offering separate dives 4 times throughout the day (diving equipment rental is not cheap). Food buffet is simple and very good, rooms are well air conditioned, come with nice see views, excellent open-air spa on top offers massages at reasonable prices. Good wifi, good transfers from Manila arranged by the property.
Beyond the property, it is a dump (literally), with trash all around, including in water, the water stings if you go for a swim. Given Anilao charges US$7 per diver per day in marine fees, the sea of trash is depressing. – via google
