Nina, Darren and their lovely local crew welcomed us warmly making us feel at home.

I enjoyed the conversations and learning about their extraordinary journey and the origins of Matafonua Lodge.

One thing that stood out was their high quality menu. They also went above and beyond once they realized I required Gluten free food. Making a gluten free pizza base from scratch and even baking a loaf of Gluten free bread!

Another bonus was Ollie the dog, a wolf / sheep dog and gentle giant – via google

Stunning spot. Add in some of the warmest and inspiring people you will ever find running the two resorts here. Add in snorkels and free dives with leopard sharks and beautiful coral reef. Even without the whales, this is one of the most special places on earth. If you find your way here you will be forever changed. Darren Nina JJ and staff, we Rosses will dream of the day we can return to your paradise. – via google

Showed up for a meal. Best to call ahead to check availability, but they were able to accommodate our small group. Very friendly staff with a strong family feeling environment. The food is a little on the expensive side, however you do get what you pay for and there was a remarkable amount of cheese on our pizza given how scarce cheese is in Tonga! – via google

Surely the best hospitality in the South Pacific. The resort and surrounds are beautiful, but cooks are whipping up delicious from scratch food and Darren, Nina and crew go absolutely out of their way to help with anything you need. A lovely and much needed holiday. Thanks guys! – via google
