Took my first PADI course here-PADI Open Water certification – and let me tell you, it’s been the best thing I’ve done to challenge my passion for the water. Such a great experience, now I had the itch for diving.
From the first day I walked in, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to learn how to scuba dive. Definitely coming back for the Advance Open Water cert this month.

The entire certification process was amazing. Everyone at the shop went above and beyond helping to review test questions(I did not pass the first time), as well as recommending scuba gear. Same with the pool dives! It was such relaxed, safe and fun atmosphere. All professionals!
Both instructors I had during the open water dives were extremely patient and made sure we were safe while learning best dive practices. Shout out to Jason and Jason!!!
The entire team is friendly, willing to answer questions and share their dive experiences. Thanks Learn Scuba Chicago! I’m telling everyone interested in getting certified about LSC ?????? – via google

I recently got certified through Learn Scuba Chicago and had such an amazing experience that I opted to keep pursuing certifications to level-up my diving skills. ALL the staff are incredibly patient and passionate about their work. Bob, the head of the organization, has a superb team supporting the LSC mission of bringing NON-PROFIT scuba to the area and offering scuba to veterans, youth, and persons with disabilities. These awesome people VOLUNTEER their time and are the utmost professionals. During one of my first visits to the dive shop, Jason kindly explained in detail the what’s/how’s/why’s of the equipment I would need with no upsell pressure. And if they didn’t have what I needed, they could order it stat. I’ve been to other dive shops in the area where they expect the buyer to know what they need, and for a newbie like me I’ve been left feeling lost. Not here. And every dollar spent at LSC supports their cause and they offer a better range of price points than most dive shops. During my NAUI scuba training, all the teachers (Jason, Michelle, Clayton, Sebastian, Alex, Al, Max, Ruoxi, Rafi, Veronica…and if I missed anyone, I’m sorry!) were exceedingly patient, made sure that each diver felt safe and comfortable, they communicated the skills steps in great detail, helped build confidence with each skill that was learned, and genuinely made the process fun! I am forever appreciative of all the teachers who helped me get my certifications! This has been one of the best bucket list experiences and I cannot wait to use my new skills to dive around the world! If you’re looking to learn scuba, go with Learn Scuba Chicago! – via google

I recently got certified as a scuba diver through Learn Scuba Chicago, and I had an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly patient, kind, and professional. They made me feel very comfortable in the water, even though I was a bit nervous at first.

I had never scuba dived before, so I was a little apprehensive about the whole thing. But the staff at Learn Scuba Chicago took the time to explain everything to me in a way that I could understand. They were also very patient with me when I was struggling to learn something.
One of the things that I appreciated most about Learn Scuba Chicago was how safe I felt at all times. The staff was always there to make sure that I was doing things correctly and that I was safe in the water. They also made sure that I was having fun.

They also made sure that I was comfortable with the equipment before we went into the water. They showed me how to use everything, and they made sure that I knew how to operate it safely.

I would highly recommend Learn Scuba Chicago to anyone who is interested in learning how to scuba dive. They are a great team of professionals who will give you a great experience. – via google

I loved my experience with Learn Scuba Chicago! I had a pretty tight timeline to get certified and LSC was incredibly helpful through the process. All of the DMC’s were so fun and comforting through what can be a daunting process.
I did the first 2 portions of the certification process in Chicago and then my referral dives in Aruba. Jason and the rest of the team was so helpful in getting all of my paperwork completed from the start!
If you are even remotely interested in getting certified, I would highly recommend it – you won’t regret it! I will be going back to LSC for other certifications to come.

The two biggest takeaways from my experience learning with LSC are that I had fun and I feel safe. I’m absolutely impressed at the knowledge, patience, and delight the volunteer instructors have in sharing SCUBA with new participants. After speaking with some friends who got certified in Florida and had a very different experience to mine, I am very happy with how well all the skills were communicated and the strong safety-first structure to each lesson. This was a great place to learn scuba. All of their instructors are volunteers which is great. They were kind and helped me with one-on-one attention when I was having difficulties. Their prices are some of the most affordable in Chicago as they are one of few shops that offer non-profit NAUI certification. They helped me cross off a lifelong bucket list item! – via google

If you’re looking to get scuba certified in Chicago – go to LSC! I was drawn to LSC because of their competitive pricing, their reputation as the only NFP scuba shop the world, and their reputation for giving back to the community and communities in need in Chicago; specifically, veterans, disabled divers, and low income divers. I was so happy to find that my personal experience with them matched all the wonderful things that I had read online.

They have a welcoming and helpful shop staff, knowledgable and caring instructors, and are overall just a great community of people. I specifically want to thank Bob and his team of instructors for all of their one on one coaching they gave me to help me overcome my anxiety with mask skills. I struggled with this skill so badly the first session that I feared my dream of becoming a scuba diver was lost. I felt scared, embarrassed, and dejected. When I told Bob and his team how much I was struggling they motivated me by telling me what I was experiencing was normal, they coached me through the skills one on one in the pool, they essentially saved me from and talked me through several anxiety attacks, and they encouraged me to keep trying. I continued to have nerves up until my final certification and the whole team (Bob, Will, Clayton, Sam, and more) were right there asking me how I was doing and cheering me on. Not only did I complete the skills but I felt accomplished in knowing that I had learned how to properly manage my anxiety underwater while diving. Thanks to Bob and his team I feel fully prepared to go out and safely enjoy the open water!

I’m living proof that with the right instruction and mindset – anyone can learn to scuba dive and I cannot thank LSC enough for helping me make this lifelong dream of mine come true. Can’t wait to use my skills out in the wild and hopefully join the LSC community for one of their many upcoming dive trips, of which they do several to incredible locations throughout the year; just another perk of certifying with LSC!

I finished my NAUI 60 ft. Open Water certification with LSC last week and had a great time earning it. With many opportunities for pool dives and quarry dives, I was able to schedule around work trips and hectic life events. The online learning system and companion app made coursework very easy and memorable, too.

I’m really grateful for the staff and volunteers at LSC for their work. They made diving fun while making sure students understood the serious parts of diving. The staff especially helped me overcome some anxiety issues I had by working through different gear sets and tips for managing composure under water in stressful situations. Really recommend them for your gear, certification, dive trips, and more! – via google
