Many years ago myself and 4 buddies rented equipment for a weekend of diving. When we got to our location we were missing a BC. Obviously 1 guy had to sit out on every dive. When I got back to the shop I told Todd Jr. (the owner) that I didn’t use one set of gear because he didn’t give us enough equipment. He said that was our fault, not his, and refused to refund us for his mistake. His horrible customer service has cost him a lot of cash, since then I have spent well over $20,000 at other dive shops in Etobicoke and Oakville, he will never see another penny of my money. It’s so easy to give good customer service, but not for this place. If you want a recommendations for amazing dive shops that are close by, look at Dive World on Lakeshore near Kipling or The Dive Academy in Oakville. I have had nothing but amazing customer service from those shops. There is a reason “Mississauga Diving” has changed names so many times over the years. – via

I sent my girlfriend here for scuba instruction and they didn’t teach her much. They never did proper perfect buoyancy checks at the beginning of a dive. They also never checked that everyone knows how to equalize. When I went diving with her after the course she sunk to the bottom at around 7m fast and shot straight back up uncontrolled. This wouldn’t happen if the instructors made sure everything was understood and performed before handing out certification cards. She had a bad ear ache and had it diagnosed as an infection. We’re not sure yet if it was ruptured or not but liquid was flowing out. Now I need to sign her up for 1 on 1 instruction somewhere more reputable like Dans dive shop to make sure everything is taught safely. The owner suggests you buy new gear when you tell him the straps on his rental bcd are broken – how about you invest in proper rental gear for your students. The instructors only give you one tank a day which isn’t much if you consider other courses out there give you 3 a day just in case you need them and so that you can actually dive at depth without worrying about running out of air early. Horrible student to instructor ratio explains why the course is cheaper than others out there. – via

Dive Aqua and Mississauga Scuba are run by the same people. I had rented a couple of diving gear from this place for certification. The person manning this place is NOT responsive at all by email. They never return calls to verify certification dive schedules. When we showed up to collect the gear, the young man said we are not on schedule and he’s out of gear. He is associated with Todd Shannon who is the dive master. Todd and Steve’s dive instructions are decent but the store keeper at Mississauga Diving is not a decent person. The young man manning the rental is very disrespectful and downright rude. With that, I would recommend avoiding this business. – via
