Accommodating to advanced snorkelers and freedivers. Most dive shops turn their noses up at you for being a snorkeler or want to dump you in 10 feet of water. Eco Divers listened to my skill level and welcomed me on the boats with divers. The dive instructor choose mutually beneficial locations and the boat captains followed along with you. I felt like I hired a private boat. All around great time, I will be back. Tip your boat captains! – via google

Just returned from our 4th trip to Cozumel and 4th time diving with Eco Divers (which should tell you everything you need to know). We did 3 days of diving with Erik as our divemaster and had a mix of experience in our group. Erik was so good at balancing his attention across the group to cater to different skill levels and really made sure the newbies felt comfortable and relaxed.

The vibes are great with Eco Divers and everyone is very relaxed, easy going, and friendly. You go out on small, fast boats, with extremely experienced divemasters that know the reefs inside and out, and they take great interest in the ecology of their environment and how to best protect it.

Thank you Erik, Jorge, Kristin, and the rest of the Eco Divers team for ensuring another great great trip for us. Can’t wait for the next one.

Tip 1: no sunscreen allowed to protect the reefs so bring a sun shirt for the surface interval and boat ride if you are worried about sun exposure.

Tip 2: get a paleta across the street post-dive.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of diving with Eco Divers in Cozumel. As relative newcomers to scuba diving, we were looking for a dive shop that was not only experienced but also accommodating to divers of varying skill levels. Eco Divers came highly recommended by our friends, who are seasoned divers and have been exploring Cozumel’s underwater marvels with this team for years. We were particularly impressed with our divemaster, Eric. His attentiveness, kindness, and expertise were evident from the start. He guided us through 6 remarkable dives, showcasing the best diving spots in Cozumel. His ability to cater to both novice divers like us and our more experienced friends was exceptional. I have been diving for over 5 years and this dive shop is definitely in my top 3 around the world so far. The owner Jorge and the entire staff are all very friendly and passionate about what they’re doing. You can clearly see that this is not just a money-making machine but that they really care about sharing their passion and providing the best possible experience to fellow divers. On top of this, it is rare for me to connect from the very first dive with a dive instructor the way I did with our instructor Eric. He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, while also being calm and having an eye on everyone at all times. I felt very safe with him and really enjoyed the 6 dives I did here. If I come back to Cozumel, I will for sure dive with Eco Divers again! – via google

We stayed with the Scuba Shack for 6 days. Roberta and her Team were amazing. Always friendly, attentive and helpful. The communication beforehand was easy and transparent.
Equipment and boats in good condition. All captains, dive masters and instructors were very knowledgable and experienced – felt safe and looked after 100% of the time. Boats carry emergency oxigen and dive masters provide detailed briefings of the specific sites. Max group size on the boat is at 6-8 people, which gives the experience a privat feel. Dive sites are Diver’s choice, depending on the current weather conditions.
I finished the drift diving speciality at the Scuba Shack which enabled me to marvel the reefs and aquatic life of Cozumel even more and did 6 additional fun dives. My boyfriend tried the Discover scuba dive and enjoyed that, too. He, as well, felt very safe with Adrián the instructor (special thanks for making this happen and getting him hooked on scuba diving! 🙂
Apart from all the praise, I feel I have to add a lil criticism for our cabaña. All, but one (ours) are located within a beautifully layed out garden, that also offers a pool to relax in, while ours was facing the street. Especially in the wee hours of the day, when the tanks, stored on the sidewalk in front of our cabaña, get picked up/exchanged, it was quite noisy. Apart from this minor inconvenience, the cabaña was very spacious, tidy and clean, with a supply of filtered water, thanks to the staff, that’s taking good care of the place.

Thanks Roberta and Team (!) for making our stay and experience so pleasant!

I dove with Roberta’s Scuba Shack for 5 days in January 2023. Roberta answered all of my questions and was very helpful as I planned my trip. The shop is very responsive on WhatsApp once in Mexico.

The dive boats generally take out a max of 6 divers for a two tank dive. I love that it’s not a cattle car operation that overwhelms its divemasters. Dive briefings were short and to the point.

It seems to be an outfit that attracts experienced divers who return at least annually. I enjoyed being amongst experienced divers. – via google

The professionalism, knowledge, communication, gentle guidance and understanding. In my opinion, make Roberta and her crew the Gold Standard.

After completing class and confined dive at MDS (MN. Dive school) it was an unpleasant surprise to find youth had abandoned me.
Age (pushing 70) and physical challenges concerned me.The owner at MDS suggested Roberta’s for Open Water dives.

Roberta, worked on my apprehension and head game. My concerns were trivial when I watched the crew deal with individuals having true challenges.
Adrian, had no problem with my perceived limitations. It was fascinating and incredibly humbling watching him in the water.

Fortune, again smiled on me with our dive group. Nepal, did her OW with Adrian and I. Awsome lady. Retired airline pilots (husband an wife) and Son. Very experienced Divers, more than generous with tips and shared adventures. Son, got excellent vid. of large Eagle Ray visit.
Cruised past within 15-20ft. of me. Almost a spiritual feeling watching it.

At Roberta’s every level of contact was exceptional personal.

It would be tough to find more genuine, sincere individuals sharing their knowledge, experiences and passion.
