A really nice dive resort in a stunning location on the Mabini peninsula. I came to Lead Marine for 2 days to complete my open water dives for my PADI Open Water Diver course having already done my theory and confined water dives in the UK. Yanis was very welcoming and thorough in his emails (this is how I booked) which helped relieve any stress beforehand as I am currently very new to diving.
My instructor Lyuha and divemaster Aris were both very helpful, easy to get along with and had good senses of humour. They also ensured that I fully understood any skill/exercise before I had to carry it out. On top of this, they also both spoke very good English (the resort is Korean-owned). The rest of the staff (hospitality and dive crew) were also very approachable and were happy to help in each and every way they could.
During my time at the resort, I saw all kinds of wildlife and sunken wreckages. Over the course of 4 dives I saw Green Turtle (x1), Hawksbill Turtle (x2), Manta Ray (x1), Lionfish (x2), Giant Clams, Sea Fans, Sea Slugs, Giant Triggerfish, Moray Eels, Giant Barrel Sponge, Sardine shoals as well endless fish of all kinds of ridiculous colours, all of which was at very close range!
I wasn’t staying on site but the rooms all looked immaculate and seemed a very suitable size. I was provided with a delicious lunch each day as part of the course (and I was offered breakfasts too).
The centre is about 45mins – 1hr from Batangas so is very easy to get to. You can even get a direct Jeepney the whole way if you’re on a budget.
I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience at Lead Marine. I shall definitely be coming back for more dives the next time I visit the Philippines! – via
