What an amazing dive shop!!
After reading great reviews, I walked up to Action Divers and was greeted by lovely, smiling Huw. He explained how the dive shop functioned (dives at 9am, noon, and 3pm), the prices (1500pesos per dive), and then talked to me about the different dive sites. I am not picky, so told him wherever he wanted to go was fine with me.
The next day, I came back and tanks were ready to go for myself and another young lady. Gear was transported to the boat and then we took a short boat ride to our first site. Backroll entry, for those curious. In between each dive, we were brought back to the shop, and were able to walk a bit down the lovely beach area to a resto to get a coffee and a snack.
All-in-all, I dove with Action Divers for 5 dives over two days. Huw showed us a variety of wildlife, and we were lucky enough to experience a plethora of sightings:: thresher shark, two octopus, a giant cuttlefish, a huge sea turtle, a bait ball, a variety of nudibranch, and much more!
As a bonus, we also saw monkeys on the shore on the way to one of the dive sites!

Action Divers provided us with everything we needed to learn to dive. Huw, our dive instructor, was very knowledgeable and made sure we were completely comfortable with all the skills to become safe divers. He’s been diving here for 20 years and knows all the best places! Jojo was very helpful with our gear and keeping everything in top shape to ensure safety. It cracks me up how high the reviews are, but it’s still not crowded. We never, in ten dives, had more than three people in our group. Hew, Piyong, and Jojo run a great shop. They don’t have a boat with a 250 Yamaha engine, but since all the dive sites are 15 minutes away, they don’t need one. I honestly have no idea why anyone would dive with anyone else. Good equipment too, and they are half the price of El Galeon. – via

Had a great experience doing our open water course, definitely recommend diving with Action divers. One of the more established places in Puerto Galera with very experienced and knowledgeable instructors, felt very safe and well prepared during the dives. Huw and Scott knew so much about the local environment and aquatic life in the area as well really added to the experience. Because of such a positive experience we got in as many as possible fun dives after doing the course and they were very flexible with the timing of it all.

I got my AOW certification from Action Divers. Huw is really helpful and patient. I really enjoyed the fun dives during the course.
Another thing is he also helped me find an accommodation near the shop. Thanks Huw and the Action Divers Team.

Action Divers was a good pick, after browsing thru many dive shops, we got lucky. Huw and Scott were good divemasters, their gear were well maintained and working great. Best price in the island too. We had nice 2x fun dive 20++ meters in January 2023. Will come back and definitely recommend. – via
