First time scuba diving and did my open water cert with them in October.
Con:
-The accommodations we stayed in was a bit old, it felt really lived in. To some it might feel homely.
Pros:
-Really friendly staff! Generally the other admin and instructors are helpful too!
-Would like to highlight Instructor Mok, he was really patient in answering any questions I had, and he was clear in his demonstration of the skills. Can see his sincerity and passion for teaching. Would recommend those interested in diving to learn at BnJ and from Mok! – via

Definitely will be back. Did my Advance Open water here. Really was worried since the typhoon season has already started and most schools were not open.
B&J’s email support – hands down fantastic.
They are really fast and clear instructions and efficient ! Puts a lot of stress away from my mind.
Look for Danny The Dreadlock Instructor – entertaining yes – and gets the PADI message across if you’re looking for an instructor that can do both ! – via

I spent a fantastic 4 days here doing to Open Water Diving PADI qualification! We had Mok as an instructor who was amazing all the way through. Give him a raise! To name a few aspects I liked:
– His attention to detail and thoroughness with explaining not just what to do but why it is done was a joy to learn through!
– He gives great person-specific tips that are tailored to what a particular individual within the group may be struggling with.
– He was light-hearted – putting us at ease at the start of the course.
– Lastly, he scheduled the course well, such that most of the more-challenging aspects were over with by the final two open water dives on the last day so that these were mainly just fun diving opportunities in a great location with a couple of minor skills to check!
Others have commented on the small size of the confined diving pool – while this is true the B & J team do appear to take that into account generally with determining the number of groups total being instructed etc. and our group had no problems whatsoever with timings in getting the course done – and we were doing it just as the monsoon season is starting to get going!
As others appear to have posted, the activity here is very focussed on diving, with not too much to offer in terms of restaurants/ nightlife. The restaurants that were there though I personally quite liked and were very affordable (coming from a western country). Lack of nightlife wasn’t really a problem for me, I found it quite peaceful! There is lots of cool wildlife on the island itself (and many cute cats) that may interest some.
As a last point, for those going just outside the main season (e.g. myself in November), I was more worried than I need be by the fact the dive centre still operates as the monsoon season starts to get going. There’s plenty of time spare in the course to account for this, and activities (e.g. the confined water diving) that can be done if the weather happens to be particularly poor. – via

Amazing diving school, the staff are just wonderful, make you feel comfortable and safe. The location is perfect, on the beach for some shore dives, and with a few restaurants around. It was perfect for doing my advanced diving course.
