We were recently in Key Largo for a long weekend. We booked morning dives to a wreck and reef. There was a short briefing mostly about non dive related subjects (the head not working, where to vomit if you were seasick, etc). We entered the water and my gf had some trouble clearing her ears. I waited for her but the Divemaster did not. She swam away never to be seen again until we were back on the boat. There was some current and we drifted a bit. I searched for the group for a few minutes then decided to surface and just wait for the boat to pick us up. When we got back on the boat I asked the Divemaster what happened and she just shrugged and said I couldn’t see you. Well the primary job of the Divemaster is to ensure the safety of the other divers. The younger boat mate (I believe they call them interns) apologized for the incident and said that is not the way we operate. Well, based on other divers’ reviews I don’t think that is true. I would steer way clear of this dive shop as they have poor safety standards. Read the other reviews by experienced divers. PS I am a 20 year diving veteran who has been to over a dozen countries. – via

Im so glad i chose rainbow reef for my AOW. The boat crew jeff and bill were amazing at choosing sites. They are all personable and knowledgeable about how to get the best dives especially for a course at the same time making sure seasoned divers also get to see cool things. Everyone was patient and helpful getting on and off the boat. Everyone was always safe and if the visibility the conditions weren’t great, they chose a different site to make sure we all had a good safe time. Shout out to Todd N., my instructor for my advanced course, he spent a lot of time over three days making sure we had a great schedule, he’s a great instructor with a lot of knowledge, definitely one of the best dive trips I’ve ever done with a lot of choices to get specific dives completed. He was always also very accessible and flexible anytime during the day and prompt with paperwork, and very patient with all of my million questions and anxiety, and making sure we felt confident, safe and relaxed. Will def be back soon for more diving and classes – via

Booked a trip with them and they got down the wrong name for me, which happens and I don’t mind. When I called them again to change the name on the reservation, the guy answered the call was very rude and impatient. He even sweared “what the hell”, “Jesus”. Will definitely cancel my reservation. Also, their deposit is non-refundable just to be aware. – via

Great weekend of diving with the team at rainbow reef. Very professional staff, boats and equipment is well maintained, the reefs were in great shape – we had good visibility and saw a wide variety of species to include sharks, rays, turtles, eels, and scorpionfish amongst others. I also appreciated their military rate – thank you for being veteran friendly!
Rainbow reef prioritizes safety. One of our dives was scratched due to weather. I know that’s a hard call, but we appreciated it, knowing the conditions might have been dangerous – not worth anyone getting injured. Thanks for keeping us safe.
Want to shout out our guide, Jack Teasley. Whether you are on your 4th or 400th dive, he has a very relatable approach to working with people. He doesn’t “over guide”, but will also make sure that everyone is safe and sees everything the reef has to offer. His passion for diving is easy to see and it just helps to get everyone excited about diving. Consistent, excellent work by Jack. Thanks! – via

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Lost Reef Adventures crew obtaining our PADI certification. My husband and I can’t say enough about the professionalism and positive experience we had with Holly as our instructor and the crew in general. Holly is a calm, patient instructor who values individual student agency. She empowers her students with the knowledge and skills needed to transform anxious students (me!!) to confident divers (also me!). Don’t miss the chance to experience the beauty of the underwater landscape. Ask for Holly, she is a fabulous teacher AND has experience teaching and guiding #autistic #divers. Shes amazing. We can’t recommend her and the team at Lost Reef Adventures enough. – via

The staff is friendly and the guides are great. They have been my exclusive dive provider. 4 stars as opposed to 5 start simply because they are forever changing the dive sites. I appreciate the fact they want to provide a good and safe experience and based on weather conditions. However, it has become more and more common they change dive sites for no apparent reason. I was recently there on a picture perfect day/night, no wind, calm waters, excellent visibility. During the morning dive we were scheduled to go to pickle barrel wreck. The captain decided to go to Pickles Main reef for no apparent reason. Was the weather bad 50 yards away? For the evening dive the captain decided to go to Molasses reef as opposed to Benwood wreck, which I SPECIFICALLY booked and you wont know until youre checked in on the boat. That didnt sit well with me so I’m gonna start trying some other providers to see if they offer more consistency. I’m hoping someone actually reads the reviews and perhaps tightens this up a little. This review is meant to be constructive, not malicious, hence the 4 stars. They are an excellent provider if you dont care where you dive. Would be 5 stars if they would be more consisent with their schedules. – via

(Translated by Google) Well equipped diving both for rental equipment (all Aqualung in excellent condition) and for the 5 comfortable boats available. Friendly and helpful staff who speak quickly and only in English for which I do not assign 5 stars.
Finally, I point out: BEWARE OF THE PRESSURE GAUGES EXPRESSED IN PSI
(Original)

Great dive center that was easy to work with and accommodating to my schedule changes. I completed my nitrox certification with Dina who was excellent. I had some weight issues with my new wetsuit and Dina was patient and got me under in no time! When we surfaced she helped with answering questions and teaching us a few tricks. I will certainly dive with them again when I’m back in Key Largo. – via Google

Had so much fun with this dive center! My first dives outside of my certification. Went with my partner.
Staff is AMAZING, the areas they take you to are beautiful, and I love that they give you some background on them as well. Safety is first with this crew. Good prices for real dives. Rentals were priced well as well. 10/10 would dive with them again. – via Google
