I’ve been taking my family here this ski season as it is the closest Vail Resort (Epic Pass works) to us. It is fine if you are a beginner just coming here to ski (be prepared for an uphill hike from the parking lot to the lifts) but the amenities are very disappointing (and overpriced) especially if you plan on staying in the hotel overnight. They have no one to help with luggage, no elevators in the Alpine Lodge or the Fairway Lodge (both of which are basically motels), and the card readers on the alternate entrances don’t work so if you go to this ski and golf resort and bring ski or golf equipment be prepared to carry it (and your luggage) up stairs yourself and potentially for a long way. The main Lodge area and the restaurant look really nice but service is sparse (friendly but slow). This last time i checked in and they wrote the wrong room number on my key card holder so it didn’t work. When I went back to the front desk and told them that the cards didn’t work for the room the gave me they programmed new cards for the room on the card holder and I ended up walking into an occupied room. I had to go back again to get the right key cards and room number and each time you have to drive and wander around for parkijg because they never have enough of the parking spaces reserved for hotel guests and don’t enforce the parking so people who aren’t guests park in those spots as they are closer to the lifts than the skiing parking lots. I haven’t found anything on the menu worth ordering twice (stay away from the burgers). The snow this year seems to all be artificial (the good thing is you don’t need to worry about slippery roads) and works just fine but there are a lot of inexperienced and out of control skiers and boarders crashing into people so wear a helmet and keep your head on a swivel. If you have an Epic Pass and just want to ski for a day manage your expectations and pack your food and you should have a decent time. Also, plan your restrooms breaks as it is a hike to the bathrooms. As I’m writing this I’m realizing this is not a good place for older skiers what with the hiking and carrying of equipment and the bathroom situation. – via
