I sent my 19-year-old daughter to look around for dive suits, fins, mask so she could get an idea of the products/styles that were on the market in her size. She is rather small so I wanted to make sure she physically saw and tried on suits before I purchased all her scuba gear.
On her first visit to a dive shop, The Great American Dive Company, she was basically told if she's not going to buy today she needs to leave. Thanks to the arrogance of the store clerk this was her first impression of the diving community. I would say this shop is not the place for young women to visit alone. - via
