Weird review as it's for both the diving operation and the hotel in one.
The hotel is pretty nice. Rooms have a/c but are not sealed in any way so temps are all over the place (and it wastes a ton of energy). It's having a slow restart post COVID it seems, and travel agents book a lot of non divers here... Which is odd and seems very boring. The island is small.
Food is hit or miss. Some good, some meh.
The dive setup is great. Returning to land after every dive is nice. The diving underwater is fantastic. Lots of biodiversity. Pretty much guaranteed to see cool stuff every dive, just depends on what. Don't see a lot of turtles diving, do see a bunch at the resort. Diving the house reef is odd as it's very very shallow, mostly 1-2m.
The dive masters are very hit or miss, and, we had one break the golden rule in front of us. I was buddied with my travel partner, but there was a third diver who was alone. He should have been buddies with the dm. He had clearly stated before the dive he was worried about having trouble equalizing due to previous issues, and was otherwise a very competent diver(search and rescue certified). The dm left him on the descent and at one point I was the only person who had visual contact with all parties. The dm made a partial attempt to find him, but we found out after the dive the dm never made contact with the diver. Very unsafe.
Thus, I would only recommend it for experienced divers, mostly with buddies they travel with. The dms also had a habit of moving very fast which was unnecessary given the bulk of activity on the reefs.
Also booking through the website was a pain and it was never clear to us if our reservation was finalized, even though it worked out in the end (the place was empty, I would be more worried if it were busy)
The turtle hatchery on site is very cool, well run, and informational. - via
