Had a fantastic couple weeks diving here in January/February 2024. Superb diving, in the muck, so much to see.
We were underwhelmed by Apo Island, if you think about diving in the context of Sipidan in Malaysia or Verde Island at Puerto Gallera - disappointing at Apo. We skipped our second trip to Apo to stay in the muck.
Staff and service at Atlantis was generally impeccable slightly lower than that at Puerta Gallera which was astoundingly good.
Recommend Alf for a dive guide if you can possibly have him. He was great at spotting things.
Here was just one night dive:
Three broadclub cuttlefish mating, one male blocking another males attempts to get involved. Amazing displays of colors.
Two broadclub cuttlefish mating.
Largest needle fish I've ever seen, probably 5 foot long.
Baby needlefish probably 3 inches.
Hairy frog fish walking and throwing his lure. Probably walked 18 inches in 5 minutes.
Squid at the beginning and end.
Flat worm dancing in the water column.
Decorator crab
Skeleton shrimp
Painted frog fish holding stoically still.
Eel
Orangutan crab eating voraciously
Three turtles
Devil fish * 3 - via
