I’ve been diving for 20years around the world, and was horrified by the diving methods of Elite Dive Center..
Didn’t want me to check the gear before jumping, and when I did I saw that almost all the bcd straps were broken and torn, also with the extra breather leaking. I only agreed to take it because it was a very shallow dive.
No breefing was given before entering the water, and (as a Rescue Diver) I had to brief one of the beginners myself (!!!) after they just sent him in the water by himself with no supervision whatsoever.
Underwater, the instructor didnt pay attention to the beginners that were struggling, preferring to take pictures with his beautiful camera.. Also he thoroughly scratched coral with his gear and didn’t seem to have the slightest concern about it, also leading the beginners close from the coral, resulting in them also scratching it..
I guess Instagram comes before ecology and safety in this center.
Almost the whole group agreed that it was overly shocking, and that feedback was more then necessary.
Can’t believe they are a Padi 5 star center, taking the Pay and Dive idea to a whole new level of inadvertance and neglect. - via
