This experience was horrible. I went with my friends and we all hated it. The staff were extremely rude and sometimes bullied us by taking our walking sticks and whacking us with them when we misbehaved. When we were in our rooms which felt like a prison cell, we had a private bathroom there although I could not use the shower. Reason being, if I used the shower I would have became balder than I already am at my old age! The water pressure was way too strong, and the water was freezing! I remember at midnight to one A.M. I was chatting with my girlies in my room and some person was standing still in the corner and looked like a hobo. Turns out it was just a staff member asking for our phones! Like bestie, we’re in our 50’s already we should be allowed freedom.
The food was horrible too, I was served beans and nothing else. For my entire trip here I was on a beans diet and couldn’t choose any other food. Talk about a balanced diet at Carlingford!
The activities were not fun aswell. Imagine a jumping competition and a Weetabix eating competition? No budget for the love of me.. Also, they had no budget to order a bus or any other vehicle to transport us from the main centre to the activities site. For the first day we had to trek up woodland in the rain! I didn’t bring boots too because I had trust, TRUST in Carlingford’s services. But, I was utterly disappointed.
