These guys know their stuff. They don't mess around... and care so much about safety and making sure everyone has a good time. We've done two discovery dives with them, the first just my husband and I, and the second with our five kids. Our ten-year-old needed more rules, like, don't practice taking out your regulator unless you're asked to...(he gave us heart attacks at the bottom of the pool and later said he was practicing... .)
We love how well they maintain the facility...it is so nice there.
Tell your grandparents you want this for Christmas...do it instead of Lagoon...I'm telling you...SO WORTH IT.
My kids are very sensitive, nervous, and not sporty at all. They all did just fine and weren't scared after the first initial descent.
My tip: if your mask is leaking try another one. I was trying to hold my mask on my nose the entire first descent to keep water from coming in, and the instructor told me not to, thinking I was trying to pop my ears. So I didn't hold the mask on, but then it really flooded and I needed help getting back up. I went down again with a better mask and it made all the difference. I wish I'd had the good mask the whole time...it would have been much more fun! - via
