I found Thailand Divers in Phuket, on the web, while I was looking to upgrade myself to the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification. The first thing that stood out was the promptness and quality of communication. While some other Dive Shops were inconsistent (not passing judgement on their capability, etc), Charlie from TD was great at answering questions suggesting options etc. So I went with Thailand Divers.
From start to finish, it was a well oiled operation. From the morning pickups to the boats (shared with other dive shops) and return drops. The boats themselves were good, some better than the others, but still all good. Breakfast, lunch and snacks were all good (local preparations), including my special request for vegetarian.
The equipment (BCD, octopus, regulator, first stage, etc) were all great and new. Used my own fins and prescription mask, but the ones Charlie supplied were good too.
The best or the worst part of the whole diving experience is always the dive instructor - Charlie did a great job in getting Sebastian Veyrac, a Frenchman settled in Thailand as a one on one instructor for me. Seb was fantastic from the word go. Experienced, calm and conservative (as scuba diving instructor should be). He took great pains in ensuring i learnt the skills repeating as necessary, Took care of everything from meeting me at the Pier to ensuring I was comfortable on the boat to seeing me off at the end on the pier. I had trouble equalising one ear - he ensured that we descended at a pace that i was comfortable with checking every couple of mins if i was okay. In all of that he was only too keen to ensure that I had a fun time seeing all the various animals, fish and coral.
All in a a great experience, got my certification and would definitely use and recommend Thailand Divers again. - via
