I have just returned from a trip with Blue 0 two (BO2) on board there Adventurer livaboard taking in the best of wrecks itinerary.
The trip was put in jeopardy by the collapse of Thomas Cook just 4 days before we were due to travel. The staff at BO2 however managed to book us on alternative flights from LHR via Cairo for a £170 supplement rather than a direct flight from MAN to Hurghada so the trip was still on despite the extra cost and slightly reduced time on the boat due to later departure time out and earlier return flight.
We were met at Cairo by a member of BO2 who gave us our Visas and ensured that we got to the transfer area for our onward flight. When at Hurghada we were met by the local office staff who transferred us to a coach that took us to the Marriot Hotel where our boat was waiting. All of our cases were transferred onto the boat for us. All we had to do was select a cylinder and set up our dive gear on it and then food was provided (1am)
The next morning we set sail for a quick check dive ensuring that we had the correct weight for the week.
Following the morning dive we ate breakfast and sailed to our first wreck of the week 3 hours away. The week consisted of 16 dives on a variety of wrecks including those at Brother Island and also the Thistlegorm plus many more. Each day consisted of dive, eat, rest repeat for at least 3 dives a day occasionally 4.
The staff couldn't do enough to help from giving us amazing food, ensuring we were kitted up and down before and after dives and ensuring that we were briefed about the wreck before we left the boat including a nit of history about the boat and why it sank etc.
We made full use of the 2 dive guides over the week using them for most of the dives. Not only did they show us round the wrecks but also ensured that we saw fish that we wouldn't have spotted otherwise, whilst also sllowing us a chance to explorer the wrecks for ourselves.
We saw so much and had a great time on the Adventurer. Looking forward to my next trip with Blue O two. - via
